Welcome to the farm in today's episode, we are speaking with Kirsten Diprose. Kirsten has 20 years of experience in the media industry, including working in radio and TV for the Australian Broadcasting Corporation in both metro and regional locations. She has also worked in marketing and communications for multiple agribusiness and agtech organizations and remains a contributor to ABC News Breakfast, ABC Radio Melbourne (The Conversation Hour), and Mamamia online.
After moving to a mixed farm in southwest Victoria, where they do cropping (mainly wheat and canola), run sheep and cattle, and recently acquired a dairy, Kirsten started podcasting to connect with other rural people- "because our lives are constructed differently from our city friends!"
She quickly discovered how effective podcasts are in building community, subject knowledge, and lifting the overall profile of a brand or individual. Since then, Kirsten has produced multiple podcasts, including her own: Ducks on the Pond.
Kirsten founded the Rural Podcasting Co to enable you to tell your own story through her tailored coaching programs to launch your podcast (with you as the host!) or improve an existing podcast. She also works with larger organizations as an agency service to strategically create, produce, and edit a podcast for your business to reach your communication and growth goals.
We talk all things moving to the farm, raising kids on the land and intergrating into a family farming business.
