Pt. Harish Tiwari started his Musical endeavor under the guidance of Guru Thakur Choubey in Deoria, Uttar Pradesh. Inspite of taking taleem from the Gwalior Gharana Harish still had the passion and longing to learn the Kirana Gharana style of Pt. Bhimsen Joshi. It was only after a recommendation from the great theatre person B.V. Karanth, that Joshiji agreed to accept Harish Tiwari in the mode of "Guru-Shishya Parampara". Harish Tiwari has been awarded ‘A’ GRADE in Hindustani vocal music by A.I.R. Delhi.
