I am an English teacher, and I was FLOORED to hear the Castlevania: SOTN soundtrack when I was looking for versions of this story to show my class! EXCELLENT!
I watched it for the first time in French class in middle school… now I'm studying English literature as a minor at uni and I'm going to put it in my essay
my teacher put this video for us to look at if we wanted a reminder of what the mask of the red death was about! i love the castlevania sotn music so much, it fits so well! great work :)
I watched this many years ago when I was just a teen, and I've always remembered it. Not all the scenes and details, but the overall aesthetic; and especially how Death's mask has those tears of blood, and how he keeps looking back as he runs… He doesn't look back like he's afraid, he looks back like he's beckoning him to follow, like he's taunting him…
I DO, THAT'S FOR SURE!!!! blue- sloth Purple- lust Green- envy or jealousy Orange- avarice White- vanity Violet- pride Red - wrath Also these rooms may also show the seven stages of life; Blue- infancy Purple- childhood Green- adolescence Orange- adulthood White- mature adulthood Violet- old age Red - death Either way it's very appropriate!!!
Yes, it was... not many people realize Edgar Allan Poe wrote a morality tale within this horror story... does it quite a bit if you pay attention.. Edgar Allan was born and raised in New England, witch trials, Puritan morality... his family was creative... actors... then dad died and mum still had to work to survive... so a fan adopted her kid, which is why he has two last names... Because Southerrners are egotistical bastards, it is always claimed Poe is a Southerner... but clearly not, witch tales are a New England specialty... Nathaniel Hawthorne, H.P. Lovecraft... New Englanders... and, of course, Edgar Allan, who Southner didn’t work out for... no matter how hard he tried... eg. kicked out of West Point for gambling (my kind of guy) You are seriously very right to see morality symbols like the Seven Deadly Sins in a Poe story... Always remember New England, witch trials, Puritan ethics, acting family... Poe is not a product of the South, he is not Theodore Dreiser or Tennessee Williams... he’s New England
Camilla: (Terrified, aside to Cassilda.) No mask? No mask! Okay, jokes aside; Masque is the first piece by Poe I ever read when I was probably a little too young for him (3rd grade I think?) and it creeped me right the fuck out. This version is wonderful, and made me feel that creepiness I felt back then. And the Castlevania music pairs beautifully with it!
Catherine Cao to me it's both ways, and not just sweat blood or shed tears of blood, but it also makes you bleed from your nose, from your mouth, from everywhere. IT also makes you cough blood and so on and so forth
It's not exactly a documentary about the plague. I made they cry blood because I wanted them to cry while dying. Not sweat. I could make them explode the same way if I wanted a violent effect.
This person makes this amazing animation with the perfect soundtrack and of course the YT assholes come out in full force and break balls about the architecture not being correct, the physical manifestations of the Red Death being wrong....so many experts on YT yet they're all watching instead of Doing
The vibe of this video is nice. But the architecture (the castle or abbey) should be in Gothic style, if you read the original words by Poe, not least the style in windows, the pointed arch and. indoor decorations. etc...
If anybody is reading this comment, I need help, my English teacher gave me an assignment on this story, but I actually don't understand it, watching this video and all, could someone help
Kenyra Grey Good spot, but it will have to stay as it is. Fortunately, I found this: "The Masque of the Red Death", originally published as "The Mask of the Red Death: A Fantasy" (1842), is a short story by Edgar Allan Poe. It'll make it acceptable.
they died cuz they ignored social distancing
Agreed

Literally was just about to come comment about that
Fucking stellar dude!!! Love it❤!
My English teacher showed us this. It was creepy as hell.
Harrison La time traveler we r doing this in my English English class too
Me too, but I think it’s cool

Pro tip : you can watch movies at flixzone. Been using them for watching all kinds of movies during the lockdown.
@Nickolas Gus yea, have been watching on Flixzone for since december myself =)
Great use of the Castlevania soundtrack! Grinned from ear to ear when I recognised every track
Creepy how the people are still smiling at the end, which just improves this great animation
Charlie Videos word, like they appear to be on the brink of madness and insanity as they bleed and die. Like their world melted away with them.
They are not. It's just their noses
@@torcaace that too, but we can't deny the visual does appear like smiles then noses.
Oh my god I used to watch this so much when I was younger I was obsessed 😭😭😭
This short movie?
@@openget yes 😂

Tchitchouan Inouane Thanks! I'm happy you enjoyed that point 😁
This is awesome only thing that would enhance it would be a well spoken narrator but great job with the animation, great art
Thanks a lot :)
@@openget This is a master piece

Oh wow, this is an amazing depiction of the Red Death!
"I'm a shape shifter at poe's masquerade hiding both face and mind"
My English teacher presented this to the class today.
Awesome video. I love the visuals here and the soundtrack for the story.
The Castlevania soundtrack goes perfectly with this story
I had it in mind from the start of the development 😊
I love the Castlevania Symphony Of The Night soundtrack with this video❤
Absolutely beautiful work
Anyone else feel like the "seven rooms" may be referencing to the "seven deadly sins"???
I DO, THAT'S FOR SURE!!!!
blue- sloth
Purple- lust
Green- envy or jealousy
Orange- avarice
White- vanity
Violet- pride
Red - wrath
Also these rooms may also show the seven stages of life;
Blue- infancy
Purple- childhood
Green- adolescence
Orange- adulthood
White- mature adulthood
Violet- old age
Red - death
Either way it's very appropriate!!!
Or the seven stages of life. Or both.

Merci madame NORDEN
I would like to point out that the Red Death makes you sweat blood, not cry blood
Catherine Cao to me it's both ways, and not just sweat blood or shed tears of blood, but it also makes you bleed from your nose, from your mouth, from everywhere. IT also makes you cough blood and so on and so forth

Jean Monset oh hey, you can do that for Prospero's death in front of the red death
edgar allan poe is the goat

The vibe of this video is nice. But the architecture (the castle or abbey) should be in Gothic style, if you read the original words by Poe, not least the style in windows, the pointed arch and. indoor decorations. etc...
What is the name of the song(s)?
It's the opening from one of the Castlevania games, I believe Symphony of the Night
All the musics come from Symphony of the Night, with permission from Konami :)
They’re all from the Castlevania Symphony of the Night soundtrack.

@@cihanatacan6983 this story represents the black death, ik that much
The potato of it was close to chimney rock, but it saw card for the review for whiskers apple brown.
It's masque but other than that it's awesome.
excellent
Could at least write the title correctly.
Kenyra Grey What do you mean?
Jean Monset it's masque not mask. Two completely different meanings.
