Grunt Proof as a great video of him in the rain with this tent. He has a few videos with this tents. He's also the reason I purchased one. They're indestructible.
There are TWO holes in the strap where you stick the tent poles. If you stick the poles in the INSIDE holes it makes the tent a little taller. You might be able to sit up.
I have both the Eureka and the ORC i like both, both have slightly different features but are solid performers. I pitched a kelty upslope tarp to the front of mine.
I love my hexpeak for being able to sit up and look out through a gap in bad weather. It makes a huge difference to your psyche when it rains for a day. 👍
The front entrance gets totally waterlogged, can’t do anything in front of tent till the ground dries out. Need a tarp extension to keep the front dry.
So, like the rest of the ground outside yes? At the end of the tarp extension the ground would be waterlogged, should we get an extension on the extension?
Ibalways put a tarp over my tents. A. Better weather protection , and B. Helps keep the entrance dry so i can get in and out withiut trackin a bunch of mud and muck in
I only use mine when I absolutely have to. My 4-man Coleman tent was cheaper, has way more room inside to keep your gear dry, but has about the same overall footprint and is easier to setup.
I bet that...if you were planning to keep the rear door(the door with no mesh panel) closed you could pitch the fly reversed so the vestibule was outside the main door for cooking if it was raining......I also think that you could make a mesh panel that could Velcro onto the outside of top part of the 'rear' door to increase ventilation and still keep bugs out....good video and I have started to shop for one of these tents.
9 times out of 10 unless you are ungodly tall, not being able to sit up is user error. Make sure the tent poles are in the holes closest to the tent body, and don't overlook the pole loop in the top center of the tent, be sure to run them through it. Doing both makes a difference.
Hey, did you put down any tyvek or any other kind of footprint or ground sheet under that ICS in that rain storm? If not, did you get any seepage through the floor? How bad was the condensation?
@@GruntProof what’s up dude. Sub on your Channel. Jst found 2 of these new for 80$ a piece. Watched your vids to make sure they’re legit bfor I purchased. Thanks👊🏻🇺🇸

Mr. Skeptical If I had to buy it again, I would. There’s only one real drawback, it is heavy, around seven pounds. The durability offsets this, but certainly a consideration for a hiker.
@@danpass12 I have one. It's a good tent. I created a custom mesh with mini magnets for the rear door. It is as others stated hot in the desert. But it has its uses
Dude that thing kinda sucks for anything but cold weather. So heavy. Condensation machine seeing that it’s basically a thin rubber. Get yourself a big Agnes.
This is the first video of the ICS being used in bad weather that I've seen. Thanks for posting.

Thumbs up 👍

Great advice thanks
This is the correct way to check out a tent. Nicely done

The ICS tent works very well in the rain. New subscriber here.

Make a channel around the tent and a way down to drain the water.

A well designed, quality build, made in America tent. ...Who would have thought.
Now, if we could only figure out how to make a car so well.

Which 4-man Coleman tent model? I’m interested in the comparison to decide!
Great vid dude, why is it so comforting to be in a dry tent when it's hammering down.
Dude, it puts me right to sleep! Awesome!

Or do what us army guys did and use a poncho and 550 cord to create a tarp over the front of the tent
Love that sound

Good to see a tent actually tested
nice you could even see it raining
Hey great video 👏How has this tent held up for you since you made this?
Awesome
Is the bottom tub that plastically stuff or thick nylon ???
Thanks for the awesome review.
Hi, thick, coated nylon.

Could have had a commentary of how it was if there was any leakage or anything else
Can you do one how the tent holds up in the wind?
Note to self: As soon as the next hurricane rolls thru, pitch ICS tent for wind test review. Lol!
it does fine in heavy winds

This tent is light enough and stable enough to pick up and face it out of the wind if the rain starts to come in, unless you staked it down.
That is cool
@-肖紅旗 dats cool
How much do those weigh
6lbs issued weight
Question: Are the rods shock cord connected or threaded? Can you provide link for tent?
Michael Mullner
Hi. They’re shock-corded.
eBay has a number of sellers offering different prices and conditions.
Is the inside blacked out?
Yes
Can couple fit in this tent ?
It's designed as a one person tent and in 'the real world' it's still only 1.5 person, max.
I've slept 2 in this during combat

Being in a tent during a storm relaxes me, but I guess it depends on the tent, and the storm.
Hmm:)
Just picked one up for $80! Smells like vomit however
😂 that's the floor you're smelling, lay dryer sheets on the floor and roll it up in the sun for a day
Hey man, you’re shoes are getting soaked…..
You would think that the floor might leak because it does not seem to be a bathtub-type design. Must be a lot of stitching.
So its open to the wet ground, pretty pointless
Peter Gozenya Im guessing you don't tent camp much
Peters comment was pretty pointless.
Dude, are you high?
Lol wet ground, my friend you can use this tent in a swamp and we did and not get wet
Thats not heavy rain. A real test would be rain nonstop in a full week like in the philippines.
I was peeing on the tent from a man lift.
