Wow the house is really coming along 😍😍 can’t believe how big bubba is getting too!
Hehe ikr! He’s getting big already! Out of newborn clothes now😭😭
You can get a fireplace screen or you could put a chalky white wash over the wood in a water based emulsion that way it would come off easily ..also you could put a door curtain over the door behind the sofa , i agree with removing the door and the tv being wall mounted ... a large mirror would be nice on the large wall xxx
I know quite a few people that have painted the fireplace and they have been fine with it. I also have brown doors in my quarters and they said we could paint them white gloss :)
It's beautiful, your a real homemaker
I think you have done amazing and made it really cosy in a week! Dont stress its coming together lovely 🙂...maybe take off the lounge door unless you use it? You could vinyl the doors and fireplace if they dont allow you to paint them? You can get so many designs on vinyl now......when it's cold that fire will be so warm and cosy though xx
I think I’m coming round to this taking off the door suggestion!! We would have to put back up when we leave but hoping to get a garage very soon so might be able to store in there! X
@@HomeWithShan I definitely would if you dont use it x
@@HomeWithShan hopefully am get my own house one day 😴
If you’re not allowed to paint the fire surround. Get the vinyl tile stickers!
Really good idea!!! X
Do you mind if I ask what area you live in? Just come across this video, we’re currently in Cyprus but move back to the uk in august! X
Hi there. How do you put up all them things on the wall? Anywhere we stayed until now, doesn’t hold anything 😭
Did you watch the military wives! X
How much is rent? Always wondered this with Army housing etc
We have lived in Married quarters for 10 years and they mostly all have those fireplaces. They won’t let you paint it so we remove it off the wall x
Sometimes they do let you paint it so we’ve filled out the permission form. X
@@HomeWithShan oh fab! I had no idea we always were told to just remove it but we’ve just moved again and my husband tripped the whole house electrics taking ours out lol! I also took my door of my kitchen cause it wasn’t in great condition and just kept it in the garage xx
Hi! Which base is this on? X
Hello there- I just subbed to you a few weeks ago so I had no idea this was military housing. With that said, here are a few ideas as far as your living room goes! One, can you take the door to the living room off? You don’t really need it and it takes up su much room. Second, can you put the TV over the fireplace? If not, I nice mantel would be great or a pretty mirror. I would not go with a farm house mirrors that has a window frame. It will look a little odd with the fireplace that is rather older and more traditional. Also, are you not worried having the radiator right behind the sofa! Just wondering! It’s a tied space but you can make it work. I love interior design and our daughter is an architect. So let the questions come. I will watch the rest of your vlog. Oh btw, congrats 🎈🎊🎉🍾 on your beautiful baby boy! He is super sweet! Hugs 🤗
I love all of your ideas so much!!👏🏼👏🏼 I think I actually agree with you on the window style mirror now I’ve thought about it a bit more!
On the radiator, it’s a good 15 cm away from the sofa (but it’s still not ideal I know!) 🙈
Thank you so much for your advice though! I’m so grateful ❤️
@@HomeWithShan - My pleasure 😇!
Where are your shelves from in the dining area please?
They’re actually from eBay! X
@@HomeWithShan wow, thanks!
Have you sold your house? Xx
No, remove rented it out xxx
Im glad you didn't clean up... makes everything seem so much more realistic unlike these people who have everything perfect and act so fake
why the bumpy magnolia wallpaper its so ugly and in every raf house. bane of my childhood
