GreenSkull Gaming lol I have 3 ps2's but all of them broke I have 2 slims and 1 fat the fat one just cant read the disc that's why im on here and amd my other 2 slims I broke them cuz I got pissed off at the game but the my 1 slim all I need is to take it apart and fix the laser and the lil black thing in the middle that spins the disc cuz I punched it then it went down smh that sucks for me and my ps3 is messed up it doesn't sucks the disc in and it keeps shutting off and freezing itsekf everythime I turn it on like it will only work for 2 minutes now I got noting but the wii but I don't play cuz it sucks now I just use it for netflix

+Biohazard Hero All you gotta do is pop the lid and clean it.. or you could install Free McBoot if you have the right PS2 version, and download your games onto a memory card to play them straight from there.
+Chromosome clean the lens? Just did it and it didn't work. Thanks on the info tho

worked first time! i wrapped a face wipe around a knife (metal) put it in and delicately wiggled it round, now playing final fantasy 8 as i type this with no problems whatsoever. thank you so much man, seriously.

Thanks man. This actually fixed my fat PS2 even though I used different materials but same method. I had no plastic butter knives or any wet wipes but I had a plastic fork and napkin so I wrapped the napkin around the pointy end of the fork and just started wiggling it around in there and it worked! Now I can play NFL 2K5 and GTA San Andreas again!

At first I was skeptical, but I took a narrow spatula instead of a plastic knife with a wet wipe and stuffed it in my PS2, hoping for the best. IT WORKED RIGHT AFTER I DID IT!?! You sir are a genius. Its 2am and ive been doing research on why my game isnt working. I stumbled upon this video and i was worried about inserting a "wet" wipe into my ps2, so i tried plain napkins and nothing. i used wet naps, like the kind you get a restaurant cause it isnt as moist as like baby wipes (thats all i had) and voila! it worked! thank you! now i can satisfy my nostalgia :)

I tried this method last month, and it worked super well for me!!! For over 2 years, the disc mechanism would make these hesitant sounds and not run the game, but then when I used your strategy, BOOM!!! The games were FINALLY LOADING!!!! I thought that PS2 would never work ever again!!! But it works like a charm again!!! All thanks to YOU!!! 😄😄😄😄

I tried this and it’s still not working? I did exactly as you said. There was some dust up there but all clean now. Every other disc works even before I cleaned it but this particular disk won’t work and I got it brand new
Your laser’s probably not dirty, but dead then.
It took about 5 mins to load the game but after that it actually worked! Thank you, I can now play San Andreas again!

yo i tried this and it worked for like a few secs then game froze. I tried it again and disc read error. I then got compressed air and blew out more dust but am still getting disc read error. Im gonna open it and wipe off the lens with isopropyl alcohol. If that doesn't work i'm throwing off the roof.
