That guy in the stock red Forester on stock tires, what a beast. 90% of that was all down to the drivers
Thats Mr Subieliftoz himself. He's been in the offroad Subaru game for a very long time.
The fozzies killed it on that uphill! Nice 👍🏽
Wish to have an amazing cross track trip like this, must be fun
Crazy that the stock red Subaru done so good. Compared to a few that struggled that were more suited for that terrain
Driver skill certainly plays a part...
Now this is a time well spend!
Nice! Thank you!
That’s was bloody awsome 🤟😀👍👍
incredible this sand hill climb .....Subaru 4 ever.
As much as we Love our Subie’s and I enjoy watching videos like this, my wife would kill me if I drove her Outback in terrain like y’all put your Subie’s through and though it’s fun to take the traction control off my Forester Touring and slide around in the snow, I’d never abuse it like that.
Great Video Mitre A! I really enjoyed that!
Excellent video, some impressive hill climbing there!
Crazy how stock tires was flying up that hill.
nailed it
Thanks for sharing ur trip, man appreciate ur work on the videos.
Trip seems hella fun :)
Discovery: I completely trust your abilities Subaru, but err... I better come along.
great video
Alpine Gravity Shuttles Yewww
Subarus when going Offroad. " SPEEEEEED AND POWAAAAAA"
Just goes to show what an awesome little vehicle they are. Mix it better than the big boys
Круто! 👍
That was a tough dune with a very tricky top section. We all went so close to the bank on the left then the one on the right. Good fun!!
It was you in the red SH right ?
Yes that's me. First time offroad in the SH, still on little stock tyres lol
That SH performed very well, compared with the SGs with better tyres. I still love the boxy look of the SG more 😉. Hoping to fit in the Anderson Design 2" lift on mine.
A daily drive is never really a daily drive ahaha
Try the 2" SubieLiftOz lift kit. It's much easier to fit, gives better results for handling & it's much stronger, 1/4" 6mm steel not 3/16" 4mm. And none of those terrible hollow steel multilink spacers with upper & lower bolts that you have to reach from behind & are so difficult to install!

Muito bom 👏👏👏
From Madrid (Spain). Forestet is the best.😊
Cool people ....
Hello from America (:
Looks like you all are having a grand old time.
Was an epic trip! I seen your winch install vid and gave you a sub!
@@ignitionoffroad5028 I did the same. Looking forward to more shenanigans.
Amzing drive guys. thats how you use your car potential. Its belong to those places . not to park it on the driveway.
That was an epic off-road Subaru video! Well done mate, some good action there!
Thanks heaps! Hopefully I can bring a lot more of these videos to you in the future
Nice videos! You should make them longer, I'd like to see how you pulled each other out when a vehicle is stuck.
Stefan Van Buuren This is part 2 of 3 so if you haven’t already check the other videos out from this trip. No one really got that stuck that we had to do a snatch recovery. Everyone either just reversed out for a second attempt or we used recovery boards
@@ignitionoffroad5028 Ah I see! You're definitly inspiring me to build my forester into an off road vehicle! Thanks.
These guys were so stoked about pushing the car hahaha
That was a tough sand dune ! Driving in sand must be a good experience !
Very! Come to Australia and experience it for your self! ;)
Would be awesome !
I had never heard of subarus before i got one myself.
"one of these things is not like the other!"
Amazing to see these grocery getters just tear up that hill. We have an 06 Forester and I am in the working of lifting it and having some fun. Where is that front bumper on the silver one from. Also the bone stock red one that guy is a great driver.
The Silver one is mine and has a subaxtreme front bar. The driver of the red foz is Matt, the owner of SubieLiftOz
Nice one mate, enjoying all your vids, the more you do the better they become, awesome stuff. Was that a club you went along with?
Thanks mate! Definitely learn more as I go. Yes, the club was Subaru's Offroad Australia (Facebook Group)
mate that was brilliant. the Shs seemed to do it pretty easily! without having to wring their necks!
Agreed! I was impressed and am considering an SH for myself after this trip
Hey does the green defender chap work in seville?
Hi guys, great video really! Did you just lift the Subarus or did you modify it in any other way like engine work or suspension? They climb really well and have good range of various abilities. They sound more powerful then they look. Great music that goes with the video.
Hi Gigi, all the subarus were modified in this video, with the basic modifications being at least a 2' lift and all terrain tires. The least modified Subaru was actually the red SH, which is a test vehicle owned by Subieliftoz themselves and had no modifications other than a 2' lift!
Love the vids man, the group you met up with, Are you part of a subaru club/group or just an offroading group?
Would love to find some people around for trips like this
I’m not part of any formal club but this group was Offroad Subaru’s Australia on Facebook. There are also heaps of MTNROO chapters for almost every state.
Mate, u didn't amazing job great shots and nice editing . Thanks for sharing makes me want to go right now for the dunes in my Foz.
Люди умеют ездить и отдыхать
Finally got a 2003 forester... And i wonder if it can climb up a similar hill. Its 2.0 dual range (125hp).
Give it ago fella. Im a UK guy who recently bought a 3rd gen diesel forester and would love to do what these guys have done. Nothing like it in UK 🇬🇧 unfortunately. Very jealous of those guys.
Just got me a 2003 forester 2.5xs can't wait to lift it and go adventuring
Credits to all but that g in the green troopy yarhzzz der lad one handed driving hahahaha did it like nothing
I have the same as the red one 2009 model, not sure if i really need off road tires or to elevate the car now lol it slayed as a stock
Definitely proves how capable they are. This one did have a 2” lift but that was it for modifications. Also road tyres work well on sand but if you go off-roading in different terrain a set of A/T tyres might be better suited.
@@ignitionoffroad5028 Thanks
When doing those hills what were your revs at if you remember?
2Wheeled Viking about 4-5k in first low range
The only thong better than the Forester is a Defender
Where did you get that awesome brush guard!?
The sump guard is made by an Australian company called Subaxtreme. They also make the bullbar
Is that standard issue 4:52? 🍻👌well done
Standard SH apart from 2' Subieliftoz lift kit.
Someone needs to start a overland Adventure Exchange program👍🏻 I’m in Orlando,FL and would love to spend a while in Australia 🇦🇺 exploring
That off road seems fun.. Where is that
Border Track Vic/SA Australia
if you go to Africa or third world countries, where there is almost no high-octane fuel in gas stations. What turbo Subaru, which loves a good high-octane fuel?
May I know do you all change to off road tires in order to climb those dunes? I have a 2015 Forester and ven with deflated tires on standard production tires, I get stuck on the snad by the beach. Thx
PAKLeow most had all terrain tyres on however the red SH was running normal road tyres and got everywhere the rest did. Airing down is the best thing you can do for sand driving. I was running 11psi in the sand
What are the specific locations of these wicked sand dunes along the border track?
Oh man this is going back a few years now. I didn’t know the area and followed others, but I remember we started from Pinnaroo and travelled south from there. Most of the dunes in this video were from a side track we took somewhere out near the red gum campground from memory? I want to head out there again and document it better next time.
From the video 2004-2006 forester AWD system isnt that very effective especially if all wheels have lost traction.I have loved the 2008/2009 foresters, their powers are unmatched not forgeting the Legendary Land rover 4×4 its power cant be compared to anything .
Where did you get the snorkel bro ?
Mitsubishi NK Pajero/Montero snorkel. I have a video on it here: czcams.com/video/KOJkA9LFm0g/video.html
What brand and size tire do you recommend for a 2006 Forester? Planning to lift her an inch or two.
Harry Da Hamster andersondesign-fab.com/tire-charts/ check that link out for tyre size chart. The BFGoodrich All Terrain A/T KO2 are a pretty good all round tyre a lot of Subie guys are running
Check out: Subaru OFFROAD HD Polish Style
Got a question. Just acquired a Subaru Forester 2012 AWD. I joined a group which does desert off road trip for beginner and intermediate drivers. I was told that my AWD is not meant for desert driving in UAE, that I need a 4 x 4. What do you think?
That depends what you mean by desert driving. For sand driving the subie will do awesome and out perform many other 4wds. If it’s steep hills and rocks then the subie won’t do as well. Overall just go prepared and get to know the limits of your car. It’s not a rock crawler but it will get you out there to remote places.
Could a 2nd gen 2.5l, H4 Outback do that kind of stuff?
Easily! Subaru’s dominate on the sand! Put some all terrains and a lift on and your ready to go!
What rims and tyres do you have and will they fit on an 06 forester
Custom OX Wheels that are 15x7 et+25 and 5x100. The tyres are Kumho Road Ventura KL71 M/T 215/75r15 and yes they will fit an 06 with a little bit of rubbing. Check out some of my older videos for more info on them :)
Did you film the part where the Landy broke
Nicholas Lopez I did but it was a dodgy recovery when the Landy broke and I’m not about promoting that so it’s not highlighted. The video where that happened can be found here: czcams.com/video/e0TMqKur1ZE/video.html
are all the subies lifted?
Yep. Every single one is running a subieliftoz lift as well
Differences between S series and X series foresters. Which are better for off roading? I have a 2004 xt.
S and SX foresters are naturally aspirated with different trim levels and accessories, will the XT is the turbo model. Naturally aspirated foresters are more reliable and better on fuel. Turbos foresters have more power and many offroad Subaru owners swear by XT turbo forester with an Auto transmission as the weapon of choice.
@@ignitionoffroad5028 Cheers mate. Good content.
Any groups in the States doing this? Meeting up and doing off road trips?
Way more than there are in Australia. Have a look for MTNROO or Softroad nation groups. They have chapters in most states and frequently run events.
Subie & You podcast also does weekly news segments announcing events as well.
@@ignitionoffroad5028 Thanks for the info.✌
Mitre, is your lovely lady a bit camera shy ?
отличный видос! Но шноркель должен смотреть в другую сторону)
7; 32 the front wheel was spining and not the back they say subaru the whole 4 wheels drive all the time
so why did it do that
Because open diffs allow the wheels with least resistance to spin. Diff lockers or LSD reduce this effect. You can see with my Forester I don’t have that problem because I have a rear LSD
What model forester do you have?
2003 Forester XS Luxury. 2.5L N/A motor with the duel range 5sp manual trans
@@ignitionoffroad5028 Sweet thanks man
This makes me want to buy an Forester . But problems with blowing head gaskets , water pumps , timing chains and belts . No thanks
Theres a lot of negative out on the internet, but if you do some proper research you will find they are actually a very reliable vehicle. While the turbo models do have more issues, the natural aspirated versions are very reliable. I've owned two Subarus with over 400,000km on the original engine without any issues.
Nice video, where is this place?
This is the Big Desert in Victoria Australia. The tracks in this video where side routes from the Iconic Border Track that follows the borders of Victoria and South Australia.
I'm looking to sell my 03 25X
4 cilender model
wanna upgrade to 04 Manuel with a high low range
dose have very light front end damage only visible from he cockpit
Hood's very slightly buckled got lucky in a crash & hit a car almost square on that & the nudge bar saved my car from becoming scrap
but new hood from wrecker's & some paint on the panel u wont even know
The saving grace only done 260.000Km's
Problay hit around to 280.000 when I'm done maybe 300.000
Q: Do i get a 6 do u need the extra power or will a 4 with turbo do the job cause that's what I'm thinking atm all depend's on how much more fuel it drink's
The turbo forest has plenty of power offroad and these is heaps of room for power upgrades. The H6 is good because it is a more reliable option however if you want it in a forester, its a tight fit and a lot of work. Either way if you want a dual range as well, you will have to buy one and swap it into place for the standard trans that comes with the turbo.
