I was fortunate to be able to share a stage with them in 2018. All I can say is, the behind the scene to be able to pull off such a performance is tough. I only see a glimpse but they have strict practice and all of them are VERY disciplined. They were amazing off and on stage! Definitely a professional!

Since elementary school, Indonesian children have been taught and understand many Indonesian regional songs or Indonesian folk songs. Usually Indonesian students do art performances at school and we have no difficulty showing which of our cultures will be displayed because Indonesia is rich in culture, we have many choices and we love all Indonesian culture.

Next week the Resonanz Children Choir will go to Austria to compete in Frans Schubert Choir competition. I watched their preparatory performance last night (13 June 2024), and it was fabulous, extraordinary performance.

In My Opinion there are 2 the best choir from Indonesia
1. The Resonanz Children's Choir (TRCC) in this video
2. Batavia Madrigal SInger (BMS)
But the first Indonesian choir has awarded as the winner of European Grand Prix for Choral Singing (EGP) is TRCC in 2018. EGP is the most highest and prestigious choir competition in the world. The participant of EGP are best of the best or the winner of grand prix competition. In 2022 Batavia Madrigal Singer has become the winner of EGP. So in this point TRCC and BMS are on Par with Philippine Madrigal Singer because PMS was the winner of EGP in 1997 and 2007.
Since EGP started in 1989 until 2023 only 4 choir as the winner from Asia : Kallos Choir from Japan in 1995, University of Phillipines Madrigal Singer in 1997 and 2007, TRCC in 2018 and BMS in 2022.

You clearley haven't seen IPB students choir. IMO IPB & UNPAD Students choirs (both are lead by the same music director, Arvin Zeinullah) are the best out there.

Boleh dong berpendapat masing masing.. saya mendasarkan kepada fakta bahwa TRCC dan BMS adalah juara di EGP dimana peserta EGP sendiri sangat selektif dan merupakan pemenang dari beberapa kejuaraan bergengsi. secara pengalaman mereka juga sdh berkali kali menjadi juara diberbagai kompetisi. Agria Swara IPB dan PSM Unpad juga bagus. kalau bicara penampilan khusus folksong selain TRCC dan BMS saya suka PSM Undip dan PSM Univ Atma Jaya Yogya.

Indonesia always win choir International competion since 20 ago. Some of Indonesian choir even can not go to the competion anymore because they always win. You can find the video of Batavia Madrigal and UNPAD Choir (Universitas Padjajaran Choir). They come from Jakarta and Indonesia. And cannot compete anymore in international stage. They only come as a guest in International even

herebelow is a very generic daily singing practice of women in North Sumatra (normally referred to as Batak tribe) - the birthplace of a number of well known Indonesian singers i.e. Lea Simanjuntak, Judika, Maria Simorangkir, Lyodra Ginting and many more. North Sumatran kids are taught singing since they can walk n talk, in Sunday schools & cultural/ritual family gatherings.
back to these ladies, this kind of singing practice is a normal daily routine upon returning from their farm fields. having a simple keyboard or basic acoustic guitar and a cellphone to record their singing practice are more than sufficient to support their singing exercise.

My sister is working as a children choir teacher (freelance). And she told me that the training for children's choir is really demanding. My sister teaches kids choirs but they are usually only compete only in south east asia level, cause they would need capital for travelling cost. And since things happened with your checked-in baggage, usually the kids would need to bring their traveling documents + medicines + costume for 1st day of competition. It's demanding but my sister loves her job (eventhough she didn't graduate from music school, but from pharmacy instead...lol).

The first is traditional song from Papua "yamko rambe yamko" and the second is bungong jeumpa from aceh.
what you both see is a regional song from the eastern tip of Indonesia (Aceh) and another from the western tip (Papua). The distance between the two places is equivalent to London to Istanbul.

In every school in indonesia they teach how to choir especially for the national songs and national athem,maybe thats why lot of Indonesian people isnt strange with vocal note
The second one they sing “bungo jempo” from aceh. Aceh is the only province in indonesia who apply islamic law. They called the province as “veranda of mecca” (makah,saudi arabia)
