Spend a few days or weeks in each state, then you will see how diverse Malaysia is. Our tourism motto is “Malaysia, Truly Asia”. I guess that sums up a bit to you both😊 Besides the people, nature and culture. Food is the main attraction here. You can find Malay, Chinese, Indian, Thai, Vietnamese, Indonesian, Western, Middle Eastern, Japanese, Korean and even more other varieties of food here in Malaysia. Almost everyone who came to visit Malaysia, will gain weight by the time they left Malaysia😂

if you don't know yet, the British were not the only ones who colonized Malaya (the old name of Malaysia) but there are others like the Portuguese and Dutch (but these two only controlled Malacca, that's why most of the historical things about the two colonists this is only in Malacca)
Malaysia also has its own sultanate such as the Malay Sultanate of Malacca (1400-1511) and the Johor Riau Sultanate (1528-1855).
Additional facts: Petronas Twin Towers holds many records such as being the tallest tower in the world from 1998 to 2004, becoming the tallest twin towers in the world and having the highest bridge between the two buildings

Malaysia, the national absolute poverty rate dropped from 49.3 percent in 1970 to 5.6 percent in 2019. Malaysia has a way to overcome poverty by providing financial assistance in addition to health facilities and free schooling. So there is no reason not to go to school because it is provided with school clothes and equipment. All students in Malaysia receive free loan books until the end of their degree.Malaysia also faces a very small homeless population and groups are also helped by placing them in special settlements. However, there are also those who are not sane and often run away from welfare homes, but there is still free food assistance in certain settlements in the city.Malaysia's main problem is the presence of illegal immigrants and economic refugees, some of whom are given special cards by the UNhcr. Although Malaysia has not signed any agreement regarding refugees, but on humanitarian grounds, Malaysia accepts on the condition that their welfare is taken care of by UNHCR. Unfortunately it creates more problems such as there are syndicates that issue fake Unhcr cards and these people then become beggars and homeless. In the Peninsula, the authorities always receive complaints about the presence of illegal immigrants from Myanmar, India, Bangladesh and Indonesia. While in Sabah and Sarawak there are illegal immigrants from Indonesia and the Philippines.

If you are referring to the 5 animalsshown at 4:59, they are (left to right) Tapir, Mousedeer, Orang Utan, Probosis Monkey and Tiger. The tapir eats ants and is native to Peninsular Malaysia. The mousedeer is a very small species of deer, about the size of a poodle. In Malay fables, it is the equivalent of Brer Rabbit. The founding myth of Melaka has the founder of of Melaka resting under a Malacca tree when he observed a mousedeer being cornered by a pack of dogs and in desperation, fought back. Inspired by its bravery, he decided to make that place his encampment (now Melaka) and named the place Melaka after the type of tree he was resting under.

Recently the story malacca got name from malacca tree got debunk by prof solehah yaacob, according to her, there's no malacca tree exist in this world. Our history book using soma oriental written by tomi pires who wrote that story without legit source. Tomi pires asking non malay in fort of malacca (kota A famosa back then) about where does parameswara came from. Remember, according to prof tatiana from Russia, after Portuguese invaded kota melaka, there's no malay live inside that kota because Portuguese forcing local to convert into Christianity so malay go live outside kota melaka.
So, where does tomi pires got that story? Nobody knows, there's nothing like that written in sulalatus salatin, acheh kingdom nor Thai kingdom record. What are recorded in sulalatus salatin is parameswara is fifth king of singapore, he inherited last "small" region of srivijaya which is riau, bintan island and johor but because of majapahit expansion, he got defeated and migrated his kingdom to malacca. So why he chose malacca? Because malacca already have small entrepot (pelabuhan) for ship, prof solehah said the word malacca is from Arabic name malakat which means a place traders met.
Old Johor record stated parameswara is third king of malacca, not the first. Which means the story where small mousedear kicking dog might be allegories to parameswara go to malacca and kicking out previous king who under majapahit reign.

@@boboboy8189 I did say "founding myth". Walking by the banks of the River, there are trees that my tourist guide said are malacca trees. Perhaps he pulled a fast one on me.
Back in the 70's our history books said that there were 2 Parameswaras, the one that founded Melaka and another, iirc, Parameswara Dewa Shah was the one that converted. The version of history I studied is now different from the current one being taught in schools. Perhaps it si because new discoveries have since been made. In today's politically motivated environment, it's hard to conduct a schorlarly discourse.
