I am a medical doctor and my father in law recently underwent Type A repair with the insertion of the synthetic aortic graft. This helped me to explain to my family about the procedure, and it definitely help everyone understand the procedure better. Thank you for your video.
WELL DONE SIR! GREAT HELP!
I’ve just been hospitalized for a Type B dissection. There were other treatments and medications. Yes I’m on a scheduled rotation of blood pressure medicines around the clock.
I haven’t read my medical notes, but I spent time in the ER, then a week on a vascular ward, and now I’m in a rehab until I am strong enough to go home.
During my treatment, i was on morphine for pain. I get muscle spasms in my torso and take an anti spasmodic for that. All of my treatment was coordinated with an endocrinologist because I already had chronic kidney disease. I’ve had shortness of breath and take breathing treatments .
I received a unit of blood and am grateful to the donor. I’m also grateful I didn’t need more blood.
Im retaining water and received a diuretic in the hospital along with a shot of potassium that I also hope I don’t need again.
I’m on supplemental oxygen and cannot walk unsupported yet.
Hope all went well. God bless
Thank you!
Perrrrffeeeccttt explanation!!!
Thank you
Thank you .This is very helpful . I was recently diagnosed with an Ascending Aortic Aneurysm
What treatment are you on
Fantastic good film. Thank you - Kahn Academy.
I had a descending dissection "repaired" with a couple of implanted stents. From everything I've learned, I strongly believe there's a significant genetic component to aortic weakness / risk. It's common to attribute it all to blood pressure, but I don't buy it.
I as a patient have marfan syndrome , I collapased at work nov 6 2015 , I almost died , I went unconscious , I was given a 50/50 chance to live on the operation table
damn. I would hate to live on the operation table
Type B, we need use B blocker first and then and/ or not use nitro
Must supplement control pain.
Thank you so much for a glimpse of hope. I have seen four thoracic surgeons and none will attempt the endovascular stent graft procedure. I have a type B dissection, diagnosed since 2012 from my aortic arch through my chest and down my abdomen.
I'm on beta blockers. Its like there is no way out. It's death, death, death and living scared.
Jesse Beso I am on beta blockers also as well as some kind of antidepressant... I am literally losing my mind... I can't remember simple things... People think I have Dementia or something... And until I have the aortic root repair I have to stay on these medications... I am dilated at 5.2 and the surgeon says that they will do the surgery but waiting is the rough part for me... Sitting at home in a daze all day. I hope it's just the medication because I feel as if I'm losing my mind, but I hope that you are doing okay while you go through the waiting. Praying for you and your family...
@@whodhavethoughtit3784 hello I hope you are doing better. Came here to watch the video and educate myself about the aortic dissection condition. My brother in law who is 54 years old may have to go through surgery to repair his descending aortic. I am praying all goes well. God bless
Hello, we would like to use this in a medical malpractice case. Do you have a version that we would be able to download? Thank you.
After operations any problems
How long does the graft last?
do you have to have a blood transfusion with operation
Hii I am Nidhi Rao. My husband Rajesh Rao is no more due to acute aortic dissection. Just because of doctors because they didn't Refer him to higher center for immediate surgery. I hate with this profession. Who don't value for a life.
Happened to me a month ago.
how are you feeling now? Are things back to normal, any changes during exercise or anything at all you can share?
Just released from Icu yesterday > taking it slow for now with round the clock blood pressure medicine and monitoring my heart rate
My father did not die . He was killed by the carelessness and negligence of a so called greatest cardiologist of India.
