I spent the day walking the streets of Vilnius, Lithuania on a trip that will take me to all three of the Baltic countries. After arriving late the previous evening I decided to take a walking tour on my first day and explore all the main tourist sites and attractions.
The tour started at Town Hall Square (Rotušės aikštė) which is on the sough side of the city centre. We learnt about Vilnius Town Hall (Vilniaus rotušė) and how George W Bush stood on the steps out front to welcome Lithuania into NATO. It’s a lovely square surrounded by pretty buildings, memorials and fountains.
We walked along Vokiečių Street and saw plenty of reminders of German and Soviet rule, including buildings erected during that period. We visited the site of a former Jewish Synagogue and learnt what happened to a lot of Jews during World War II.
A while later I was introduced to a tiny republic situated in the centre of the city, a place called the Republic of Užupis, which in a light-hearted way claims independence from Lithuania. We entered via the Bridge of Užupis (Užupio tiltas) which is close to the impressive Orthodox Cathedral of the Theotokos (Dievo Motinos Ėmimo į Dangų katedra) and found not only the Angel of Užupis (Užupio angelas) but also a long wall which features the Constitution of the Republic of Užupis (Užupio Respublikos konstitucija) - something every tourist in Vilnius should see.
Back across the river I stopped by Literature Street (Literatų g.), the former Jewish district, some secret courtyards hidden inside the old town and the impressive Cathedral of Vilnius (Vilniaus arkikatedra) with its separate belltower (Vilniaus katedros varpinė).
After a quick snack I spent the evening walking along the Neris River and flying the drone alongside small rowboats on the water and between massive, modern buildings of the city's skyline. Vilnius is a cool city and I can’t wait to show it to you!

Beautiful tour. I like the way you present all these places and the way you manage to capture the mood of each of them. Thanks for sharing all these wonders.

Lovely drone footage 😊 that tank video was bizarre. At first, I thought it was a joke, then he actually mowed down someone's car. Can you imagine what would go down in England if say the PM did that 😅

Haha yeah that would be wild! Although I could see Boris doing something similar I'm not sure Rishi would is that crazy!

Love the drone footage at golden hour. Wonder if at "caffeine" they have coffee or just inject caffeine right into your veins? Digging that gothic brick. Guess one should count their blessings when they only get a ticket when illegally parked!

Maybe they plug you into a Matrix for Coffee Lovers! A world of coffee related content ☕️ Unsurprisingly I didn’t see any illegally parked vehicles during my entire stay in Lithuania. We should do that in the UK! 🤭

@@MattWhitingsEurope ah, makes sense. Good thing you left your car parked in Italy and not Lithuania!

I hope this doesn’t break some legal agreement with CZcams or worse cause you a loss in revenue😂but I’m saving all of your Baltic videos so I can refer to them on my upcoming trip. Cheers mate👏🏻👍🏻✌🏻🤙🏻
