      TheGreatGazoo trust me i did this then welded the wholes back in after I realised that particular part of the exhaust is the 2nd of 3 chambers, And finding out that pipe leads to the front left (last chamber), what I did to mod my exhaust for best performance vortex like flow, unique tone & volume and for literally nothing but skill and a bit of knowledge and understanding of exhaust’s system’s and their ‘mechanics’, and being able to simply weld, grind, and ‘bash’, you’ll be astonished with what you could result with 😇

      Exactly, most people will replace this exhaust eventually this is just a great way to live with it in the meantime. In reality it sounds good enough this way that if you want a good sounding yet quiet bike you might as well save your money, just do this and call it a day.

      My comparison video shows the sound of the stock exhaust with the hole mod vs a real exhaust and oh my god... The difference is huge... Although it did help me tolerate how quiet the exhaust was for a while and then I got an amazing opportunity to team up with Toce performance and there was no way in hell I was turning it down.

  • @jamminjesus
    @jamminjesus Před 7 lety +1

    I don't have this bike but I enjoy modifications like this... If you run a long bit or hole saw down the exhaust pipe and drill holes or one large one in that internal elbow (you showed) to bypass baffling. At least that way you have all exhaust gasses exiting properly through the pipe. I bet it would sound better too... Just a thought!

    • @TMVGarage
      @TMVGarage  Před 7 lety

      +ACH-2 I've contemplated doing that except for two reasons, I think that would reduce too much back pressure on the engine before I am ready to get an ECU flash and for it being a stock exhaust I like the way it sounds because I appreciate just how quiet it is while still sounding decent.

    • @jamminjesus
      @jamminjesus Před 7 lety

      6x3/8 holes in addition to the OEM outlet allows a shitload of exhaust gas to bypass the baffling. It would lean it out for sure.

    • @TMVGarage

    Nice work. I have an identical bike. Was looking up exhausts and realized I just really liked how the stock shroud fits with the rest of the bike. Going to have to do this myself, makes the sound fit the bikes appearance much better. How did you avoid getting tiny pieces of the muffler from getting trapped inside when drilling the holes?

    • @TMVGarage
      @TMVGarage  Před 5 lety +4

      Honestly there probably is a few shavings in there, if they haven’t blown out by now, that’s not an issue however since there are no moving parts to get caught in. You could put a strong magnet next to the hole you are drilling and it should grab most of the shavings if you are worried about it.

      @TMVGarage  Před 3 měsíci +1

      You’ll probably hear it a little better, it doesn’t make it all that louder as does make it make have more bass. I’d say it comes down to your helmet more than anything, my helmet makes a lot wind noise at freeway speeds but I can still hear the motor at times. I would say go check out some of my road trip videos but those aren’t a good representation as I was using and older GoPro with just the onboard mic most of the time so even more wind noise than in my helmet.

      TheMotorcycleVlogs / TMV Lol I cant find it for the life of me lol. But he basically cut out the back pretty much in half. From there he cut larger holes and even removed what looked to be disrupting the flow of exhaust. Then put that plate back on the exhaust via welding it. So basically its a drilled and slightly gutted exhaust with no exterior holes. If you can weld it’s free too lol.
