Some say that second teacher's still smiling under the iron mask to this day...
Love the videos!
His delivery is exceptional.
The comedy is dry, self aware and fourth wall breaking
My miniatures never look as good as Sam Lenz's, and I never understood why. Surely I am a hardworking painter of singular genius? This video finally reassures me that the problem was with my tools: I was simply not using enough brushes!
Yes, I missed you.
This was exceptionally helpful!
While a lot of these techniques happen instinctively, having them bought to the surface and consciously thinking about their application will change the way I think about pushing pigments
Sir, you’ve managed to put into my brain something that even Sir Vince was not able to. Kudos.
Also - having “just a tiny bit of paint in a moist brush” is like a “loaded brush technique”, just with water instead of another paint. That was a revelation for me. Thank you!
I get so jealous when I see your art, but not discouraged, inspired.
I strive to have at least one model as clean and well considered as this in my collection.
My quest continues
I'm loving the past 3 weeks with a new vid. Thanks a bunch Sam!
This was a really good way to show this process, I think for me it is the moisture in the brush, either too much paint or maybe too much water... I need to become a consistent brush licker lol. I will say though, that I have noticed just by watching you stream and your CZcams videos that you always usually have a micro amount of paint on the tip of the brush, and you will work magic with putting that paint exactly where you want it, I've played with this concept and I feel I have upgraded my brush control a little bit... this video is exactly what I needed so I can watch and see the practical steps as you've explained and shown... well played my friend, well played. As always, thanks for sharing the process, I'm a huge fan of your art bro! 🤘🏼😎
Professional as always.
I'm deffs going to try this out later, thanks
Heyyyy good to see you goodsir. Thank you so much I've missed your videos!! 🖤
Huzzah! Unchained is an amazing style of art. Thank you thank you for your wisdom.
tyvm to share that tips and "ways to work" whit the brush. Ofc all of us know that to improve your paint works you need to paint a lot, but that theory behind the practice is a Rosseta stone that lot of us missing, more when (it´s my case) you dont have arround a comunitty of ppl that use to paint minis or talk abaut paint techniques. Tyvm again and keep whit that usefull and good work
Sam, really enjoyable video and just love how you breakdown techniques into something which doesn't scare us beginners.
I really appreciate how you went into brushstrokes and paint dilution. It's not exactly something I was unfamiliar with, but hearing it from a different perspective really resonated. Seeing the strokes on the plasticard in particular did it I think.
Thanks for the vid! Almost feels like it should be in a patreon.
Glad it was helpful!
Great tips!
Looks wonderful!
very instructive!!! i really love your artworks! So amazing paintjobs!
As always, Sam, immensely helpful. I'll be passing this video around to my friends and students
Really nice effect! :)
Really enjoyed this simple breakdown. Cheers my dude
Might seem little, but I really liked this version of the intro.
That was subtle but real cool. I had to zoom way in to recognize your brush stroke direction.
EVERY MOMENT BETWEEN UPLOADS IS HORROR
As always super helpful to see the technique!
Boss video brother
thank you tis was so helpful!
Thst shield is my aspiration.
Great stuff friend 👏 👍
Brush licking for the win
It may not appeal to all but having a soundtrack of..I dunno, maybe relaxing background ambience by ‘Dehumanized’…? Just putting it out there.
JohnSON not JohnSTON. But still very cool!
Chrome-plated Speed-wizard
Thank you for sharing these techniques! What paints did you use for the TMM gold? It has really good contrast in the lights and darks
Bro wvery goddam time I see your videos I always get confused and think its a Razorfist video lol
Sunglasses are essential for this technique. Good video
😂❤
Fantastic work! What is that beutiful red color?
Thanks! Khador Red Base is that bold primary red. Best red out there, it's from P3. Cheers!
The iron mask to be left for another video, and perhaps another company who specializes in hands... lots of hands, and only hands. 🤨
Razorfist?
Aw dammit. That dude does look like me though.
I hope the second painter doesn't get his mask off. Can't have him making a painting coach career somewhere else or even create a paint line.
I don't think you really wear sunglasses indoors. I strongly suspect it's a CZcams "thing".
Sam actually just sits on his couch with sunglasses on to spite CZcams commenters.
Who is this fake Razorfist on the thumbnail?
Ikr uncanny likeness lol
Great tips!
