How fast can you remove a rolled over a car at an accident? How about less than 4 minutes? On a slow day we decided to roll over a Hyundai Accent and practice rolling it back over. Good training session that we thought you might enjoy. - Jak na to + styl
For rollovers I also like to while it's on it's top or side look for any leaking points like a cracked transmission and I like to pre rig my v bridal to load it on my bed when it's on it's side and I will do a one lane rollover if possible, I also like to check if the wheels spin, if they are locked all good if not I need to put out boards or crawl in and put it in park or even use a pulley rope or strap on the emergency brake cable. If there is a leak point I have putty I can put in the leak point and seal it so there will be no spills or possible hazard situations, and I can bill for it.
I don't own a tow truck but I do enjoy watching experts at work. There's more to it that we think.
Ahhh... AAA, making it harder since 1966
Nice video. 2:32 at this point I would’ve put a snatch block to do a low pull and avoid the vehicle coming down and landing onto the cable and boom.
nice job. a highlighted point would have been is the blocking of the tires. a very inportant point. as we know under different circumstances booming up hi. the car rolls over on its feet and rolls away atill cabled up the wrecker can roll over. again great job on blockiing the car tires wile its still on its side.
don good work and showed me a wee trick that i will be using at sometime in my duty as recovery driver john from scotland
I like watching this one. I love the roll-overs.
GOOD DESCRIPTION! Like pool setting up for your next shot.
Hello just want thank you for this channel it dose help me as a new comer to this business hope to see more
All in all good job man. The only thing that I have to say is during the second rollover I would not have use the J hook on the control arm. Sometimes those J hooks can bind up and come down vertical and slam into the ground which bends the hook and can drive the end of the Jay Hook two or 3 inches into the pavement. But other than that great job guys
good points, good video!
I think you should have a video on bikes, some drivers do need to see it I am working in Canada and I can tell you most drivers out here have no clue how to tow a bike without damaging it
Yes we do all sorts of recoveries we'll get some up in the next few months
I guess I should explain you run the chains in front and rear of the roof under the car bring them up to the bottom of the car and hook the the same as you did. This keeps the car from moving to you and makes the car roll away from the truck! It also adds mor control on how fast it rolls and in most cases safer for the driver. I can see you have the know how! But if you never did it give it a try. I have shown this trick to many drivers over the years and it works.
The car is wrecked and flipped, on an accident scene I'm going to hook a long chain in-between the front and back wheels put my chock blocks into the pinch points on the ground and pull slowly with my winch until the car flips back over. IT'S NOT HARD.
By the way keep in mind I started out in the field with a 1964 Chevy pipe boom. So many of my know how may be a little dated. Just want you to know this idea of showing details of how is great! After years of towing I will say you will likely save some drivers life.
Thanks we're just getting our feet wet here and really appreciate the comment
I would like to see when there is a need for the sling lift ,,,, when and how to use it?
Good video, not bashing by no means. I enjoy them. I prefer the single lane rollover and lay it down on my L-arms. (Roll, lift, strap, towmate, and ride lol)
How long have you been doing towing and recovery? You seem like you are an all around expert at all aspects of the business. I have learned a lot from watching your videos. Thanks Don.
OK new to your channel and I hate jumping in like this your do what wish I had 35 years ago! And I DO NOT want this to sound like I am saying you did it wrong! But back when I was doing recovery work I was taught to run the chains under the car after I got good at judging the car/truck I could put it back on its wheels in the same spot.
good video, you should do one now where you upright a car on its roof when you are in-line with it. you can't always get sideways to a car due to police demands etc
the second technique does'nt work on ice as the wheels wont grip. Using the lower lift points with the truck positioned on the roof side will pull it over, and it lands away from you which is a bonus! lol, JM, Canada
Wheel straps for the uprighting?
would it not have bin easyer just to push the car over to its wheels? its a light car so it would save time (although may cost you back in the long run) =P Great work non the less =D
Looks like the cables got shock loaded when the car rolled over.
Look at the slow motion at 2:37
Like the way you slide the car on its side creating more damage and letting fall on its suspension also creating more damage to undercarrige or drivetrain. I never let the car slide or fall.
dennis n The car is a TOTAL LOSS does not matter I am sure they would have been easier if it was a viable repair
You can do that because when there rolled there totaled. You sound like an operator that knows everything and would get fired quickly.
That's one way to do it. Nite why didn't he just use the seatbelt? Then it would of taken 2 minutes. Also go from the roof to the wheels with a roll back single lane. Hook, roll it, pull it up the bed never moving the truck.
Please show people how to use a "Roll Over stiff leg" as well.
+Alvin Camidge That's a good Idea Alvin...I'll see what I can do
I was always taught that j hooks are not recovery tools.
All your hooks are for recovery. Just depends on how you know what to hook up to...
Its never that easy 75 feet off the road in 6 inches of snow in the ditch. Just saying
