First, Happy launch day. Second, Spoilers obviously. I have made sure not to say anything in the description or use a thumbnail that is spoiler territory. A lot of stuff happens in the finale and its best if you can play it yourself. For those who don't have a PS5 and want to watch, well enjoy! I've cut out the credits. It's 30 mins long and has a blocked song, so no. A cool fight with multiple phases. Still think Bahamut battle is the best one in the game, with this coming close. Hope you guys enjoy! Paraphrasing the "This is your Final Fantasy" meme then punching a god in the face for 999,999 damage was such a raw moment.
I got reminded of Capcom’s Asura’s Wrath where it was just like that

Interesting to see that all of the more beastly looking Eikons (while the rest are bunch of humanoids) are working out together to take on Ultima in his Eikon form which is also beastly, since it's basically just Ifrit with wings. I personally prefer the more beast looking Eikons than the humanoid ones, so the opening "fight" against Ultima is satisfying to me.
At 55:57 the lines said by Clive there made me thinking, that if Ultima does not chose the path of completely ignoring the thoughts and prayers of his own people, he would be among the same people that would support him, their God. Clive isn't fighting Ultima out of pure hatred, but more like out of pity while still thinking about humanity as a race that had been abandoned by their own God.
I like how Clind and Ultima used the words Final and Fantasy to describe the reason they fight. And it is very profound if we apply it on real life
What Clive said to Ultima at the end about why he fight and preserver, that is something the WoL from ff14 trailers would say if he have a voice, especially in Endwalker.

Nah probably those people are his descendants and clive died but joshua didn’t since clive use the pheonix powers to revive him back soo probably joshua wrote the book about the whole plot of the story that appeared in the post credit scene
@@illusion6661The Phoenix (in this) can’t bring anyone back to life… they have said that too many times in this game already. Joshua was dead by the time Clive went and “fixed” him.
It's truly amazing how so few people actually understand what the ending with Clive meant. It's like they turned their brains off during every hint throughout the game symbolizing he survives. Every single video explanation or article I've read on the ending has missed every single subtle hint' it's almost like if the answer isn't slapped in your face they will never see it. Yoshi-P and crew had to much faith in the IQ's of us, the western audience.
The visual story telling in the end points to something of a rebirth type of situation. 2 Boys same age difference, same hair color difference and someone who I bet is Jill. Can we please then question the Book that´s on the table. I just finished my first run after ca 50 hrs and I an emotional mess. But knowing Yoshi-P, he never let us down and listens very closely what the audience says. *Crosses fingers for an very good outcome* Oh and don´t get me started on the darker haired boys fascination with fire.... coincidence?! I don´ t think so. :)

Rubhen925: Thank you for this video. I have a question: After Dion fell in his final battle, what does his Active Time Lore entry say? Does the Active Time Lore say that Dion was killed?

@@Rubhen925 Have you had a chance to look into this? I am specifically asking about the time interval after Dion fell against Ultima Prime, and before Joshua’s body burst. During this time interval, did the Active Time Lore say anything about Dion? If so, did the Active Time Lore say whether Dion was killed? Also, thank you again for this video.

Leviathan was mentioned by Joshua being one of the 8 eikons when he was reading some old scripts: Garuda, Ramuh, Shiva, Titan, Bahamut, Odin and Ifrit and he was wondering why Phönix was not mentioned.

@@yuseigallenger3165 Not possible as a continuation of the story because Clive made the world free of magic so to speak. They could still inlcude a dlc where u are able to unlock leviathan before fighting Ultima.
@@wokeaf1337 have you ever play the ff games you know they can change that like in a dlc for example before going to the final theres a new scene like leviathan visiting clive and another story will add once you meet the requirements to get the true ending you will get a new scene like joshua and dion will be save and happy ending to clive and jill they get married and rebuild the empire of rosaria dion become a new emperor and joshua become a teacher and share his knowledge especially for the children square enix can go that route just like ff15

I think there's more than enough symbolism already to show Clive might have survived, but they could very easily take a page from FFXV that adds another ending.

In the end, the FF16 story is a reimagined story from FF13. Dominants are fal'Cie, Clive is l'Cie (servant of Dominant), & Ultima is Bhunivelze. The ending is the same as the ending in Lightning Returns - in the end the world becomes without magic. Gameplay is also largely similar to Lightning Returns/FF13 - more linear but with open maps to explore. The only difference is that FF13 was a turn-based/command-based RPG, and FF16 is a hack & slash game that copies the battle system from Devil May Cry.
So everyone hated the FF13 series and FF16 has identical things. the only reason people like it now is because FF16 is a hack & slash game and FF isn't a turn-based/command-based RPG anymore.
The same thing was FF7R itself which was linear and what most people hate in FF13. Only one reason it was OK for FF7R being a linear because FF7R was an action (hack & slash) RPG.

I think you're underestimating the familiarity of the language and classic medieval setting that FF16 has over FF13. FF13's world was more original, which may sound like a plus, but the classic medieval style is very popular in the West and attracts more players. I do think the difference in gameplay also plays a large part, but the setting and style difference can't be ignored. Dark medieval fantasy is pretty much Final Fantasy's roots but I find it more uninspired now than I used to.
Fuck man, I rlly wanted to see Clive and Jill rebuilding their fallen kingdom in the ending.

Honestly, this is a videogame...most videogames come with epilepsy warnings right when they boot up. On top of that, this is Final Fantasy, which has a reputation for all of the particles and flashing lights. Expecting different at this point is setting yourself up to fail (or get sick).
@@Reseng 1) Just because people are aware of a series known for intense particles, doesn't mean they're going to know when the exact moments come on (notably if it's a first hand experience)

No, Joshua said Phoenix can heal flesh wounds but not bring people back from the dead.
Clive healed Joshua's flesh wounds and then he turned into stone since he had no eikon power left in his body.

I am so fricking glad someone mentioned that lol. They even mention it earlier and then Leviathan is nowhere to be seen, unless i dozed off when it was mentioned or showed up😂
They only mention Leviathan as a lost Eikon that hasn't been seen anymore, maybe they're saving it for a possible dlc?

how you rate this final fantasy 16 ?
i haven't done ng+ yet, but i enjoyed it. Though I did find the pacing a bit off and side missions popping too frequently. FPS drops happened a bunch too during big areas to explore. But other than that I loved the combat, the variety in powers. You feel like a complete badass in this game, and gives a full power fantasy. Boss fights were a highlight as well, the major ones were a visual spectacle. I'm in the middle of 8-9 so far

Clive was right that humans didn't need a God that had nothing but contempt for them, Ultima didnt care or want humanity, so they dont want him. Its always been a trope to show that humans can accomplish what they want and drive for greatness without needing some higher power to lead them around.
@@TheSSBBfan666 I love Final Fantasy and I'm well aware of its killing the Creater God trope but I just wish the games would argue the point better then God is an asshole. Ulitma actions however make no sense based on the fact he doesn't give a toss about humanity. FF16 puts forwards that Ultima made mankind for his own benefit to restore him then why did he create mankind with Freewill instead of just making them biological robots? On top of that he gave mankind the potential to destory him. That's like me creating a robot for the sole reason to help me move off a planet but I give it freewill and a nuclear weapon for some reason with no installed safety measures in place to shut it down if it doesn't do what I want or created it for. If this was true about God then mankind would have been wiped out long ago.

I enjoyed the gameplay, characters and story but yeah the ending was very disappointing but the devs did say they wanted to make it very dark.
