  • ‘The product is here. Now we need the charging infrastructure’. That’s the sentiment of some of the UK’s biggest-selling truck manufacturers as we kickstart the design and feasibility phase of the Electric Freightway project in 2024.
    This UK Government-supported initiative will help lay the foundations for a nationwide EV charging network for HGVs. And there is nobody better placed to inform the design of bespoke EV charging facilities than the companies and customers that are already embracing the eHGV revolution. Companies including DAF Trucks, Renault Trucks and Volvo Trucks.

    Great that Gridserve are looking into HGV charging infrastructure. I'm glad to hear the 1MW speed mentioned. Trucks will need that. Here's hoping for a speedy roll-out.

    Seems not every one is in agreement with electric being the way forward for HGVs, JCB are deep into hydrogen development and testing

    The majority of HGVs in 20 years will still be diesel

      ​@@ZA26neither does a nationwide liquid fuel delivery system, but we managed it.
      Humans are good at solving difficult problems.
