    Sansa had the most heartfelt reunions with her siblings amongst all of the Stark children. I honestly think it has a lot to do with the fact that Sophie Turner had amazing chemistry with basically everyone.

    • @perrycarters3113
      @perrycarters3113 Před 2 lety +67

      I think it also comes down to character journeys. Of the four remaining members of the Stark household, Sansa is the one whose journey proved by far to be the most transformative.
      John dealt with the most battle/bloodshed stuff, obviously, but he always had his sense of honor and duty to 'shield' him from any emotional blowback or consequences of his killings.
      Bran is, obviously, emotionally dead.
      Arya dealt with the cold, brutal reality of what she would need to lose to become who she feels she must to avenge her family. By the time she returns home, there's so little of who she was left, that she eventually decides she cannot stay. But she has become the badass warrior lady she always wanted to be.
      Sansa easily-EASILY, no contest-went through the most psychological and emotional trauma. It was enduring, relentless, and utterly dehumanizing. The physical trauma, while obviously extensive, was relatively short-lived compared to the more severe physical matters that John and Arya had to contend with(John's several battles and injuries, up to and including actual death and resurrection, Arya's blindness and brutal training in Braavos). With everything Sansa went through, the barest glimmer of comforting light and warmth from her past is equivalent to the full brightness and warmth of the sun.
      Of the three, Sansa becomes the opposite of what she wanted; she wanted to be a delicate, dainty lady in a fancy castle, attending parties and wearing pretty dresses and mothering children for her beloved King. Instead, she is a hardened, calculated, ruthlessly efficient but beloved politician, with no male suitor or children to vie for her attention.
      I personally imagine Sansa will eventually take a lover, but she will never marry them and grant them power equal to her own; she'll bear children and continue the Stark name, but she will suffer no rivals.

    • @taylorkathleen1405
      @taylorkathleen1405 Před 2 lety +129

      Tbh, that was just some weird thing that D&D decided to throw in at the last minute, and the fans like to run with it because Sansa is a popular character to dislike.
      In truth, Jon and Sansa were never close growing up, but the two never think badly of each other. Jon specifically recalls moments in their life like Sansa teaching him how to compliment girls with a fondness and Sansa thinks about how nice it would be to see Jon again during her time as a hostage. They likely wouldn’t have spent much time together as kids and they definitely were never as close as Jon was to his other siblings but there’s nothing in the books at least that suggests Sansa treated him badly like certain fans would have you believe.

      @@taylorkathleen1405 I've only read the first book.     • @taylorkathleen1405
      @taylorkathleen1405 Před 2 lety +55

      @@breezy3392 yes, Sansa is very aware of the status/class differences. She‘s definitely not very close to him but it’s not because of a dislike or disdain for him. Sansa and her brothers would be educated differently and thus would not be spending very much time together, and she doesn’t feel like an outcast like Arya does, who struggles with the expectations and confines of her role as a “lady” and seeks out comfort from the other outcast in the family, her bastard half brother.
      Sansa and Jon just don’t have a lot in common and didn’t spend much time together, but it doesn’t mean they dislike each other. At different points throughout the books every Stark child acknowledges that distinct difference between themselves and Jon. None of them shy away from the fact that Jon is a bastard or insist that that he is their full brother, but they also don’t love him any less for it. Sansa is just the only one who gets hate for it 🤷🏻‍♀️
      I would definitely encourage you to read the rest of the books and try to do so without letting fandom opinion sway your thoughts. A lot of fans are still bitter about the show ending and lack of book content and will have you reading into stuff that’s just not there lol

      @vlad-im4499 Před 2 lety +28

      Not really, she sees him and refers to him as her half brother but don’t treat him any different, mainly because she isn’t close to her siblings, that is Cat’s fault because she raised Sansa as a mini version of herself, an example is that Sansa have a different religion than her siblings.
      Another thing that the show really fucked up is that Sansa has the best manners, is not likely of her to mistreat someone out of nowhere, even Arya (who often thinks that Sansa’s actions are meant to annoy her) says that Sansa wouldn’t laugh at her because of her manners.
      She regrets not being close to her siblings, her character having a kind of connection with Jon’s had a lot to do with them being the only or last Starks known to be alive and also both of them being idealistic about KL and the watch.

    Another thing that makes this so great - and non-readers may not be aware of it - is that growing up, Sansa took after her mother in every way, and that included hating on Jon, she wanted nothing to do with him and was quite nasty to him at times, as children can be. At this point in their lives, they have both clearly grown up and realized how unimportant that pettiness truly is and how incredibly important family can be.

    • @reviewcentral8406
      @reviewcentral8406 Před 11 měsíci +1

      Clearly your also a non reader because Sansa was never nasty to Jon in the books. Nor did she hate him. She just wasn’t close to him like Arya and the other Stark kids. As a matter of fact. The few times Jon thinks of her in the books it’s always fondly and a good memory. Sansa being mean to Jon is literally something show fans made up and then the writers added it in to season 6 in a toss away line. It’s literally not true in the books.

  • @CharissaAlex
    @CharissaAlex Před rokem +2

    And now imagine, having read the books and spending years of your life week by week, waiting for this moment. For any fucking Stark to be reunited, for the first time since season one. I think Jon going slowly would have spoken to the fact that for him, he wasnt entirely sure if Sansa saw him as family, considering where her character was at S1 when they last met. But Sansa running to hug him would have shown how far shes come since then
