- Hello RC Modelers,
Here's MN MODELS first release of '22; the MN78 1/12 RTR 4WD RC Crawler.
In this review I will run you through the full specification, compare it to the MN86 and MN90, test it on my crawler course, and give you my honest opinion of whether it's worth buying or not.
This has just gone on sale and is available to order right now via the links below:

I will be doing some upgrades and modifications to this (EVENTUALLY! Sorry for the delay), so be sure to sub and hit the bell button so you don't miss those future videos! And why not checkout the other videos on my channel.

For 75€ I would buy it just to look good on a shelf. The fact that is radio controlled is a bonus 😁
😎👍
I just got my first RC car in the mail yesterday. I’m in love!! This Jeep is the first one I wanted since I have a ZJ in real life, but had to go with a cheaper option on Amazon cuz I had a gift card. You definitely convinced me to get this one next!! Thank you for reviewing it!
😎👍 Glad you like it. Welcome to the hobby my friend!
Waiting for the upgrades on the MN 78 great video 👍
Cheers dude 🤜🤛
I'm also here for that video. Watched this one and the
Mn86ks videos multiple times learning more and more things
😉👍
They are all over AliExpress, ebay, etc.
Very cool truck love that body, I've recently started looking at the smaller vehicles mostly EazyRC FMS RocHobby 1/18. But the support for parts is not there as much, really looking at MN vehicles hopefully they have strong support for after market products.
The 1/10 crawlers are just getting to expensive, thanks for review awesome 🙏☮️✝️
Thanks man! I know what you mean. 😎👍
I got this for £51 from Ali specifically as a trail truck for the dark winter evenings around the street for my kids.... Its perfect for that. The kids love the lighting. But will defo be upgrading when I know what is a good fit.
😎👍
Great video, your a bit harsh as this isn’t that big company.
It may not be that much but is still has its things and they will get better as we go.
There could be some changes and upgrades but that’s what it makes it fun just tinkering and customize it.
Thanks man. Let's hope it does. I hope they release a kit version.
@@Maikel1500 Just compare it with the stellar MN86K so you know what this "isn't that big company" is capable of.
been waiting for ur mn78 upgrade hope u make a tutorial video great review!
Hi Jo. I have been focusing on the LDRC Unimog. But I will look to do some upgrades to the 78 soon. Happy New Year.
Same. His modified vehicles just end up looking amazing with great attention to details in the video
Great review. Nice attention to the details. Looking forward to see any mods. on your channel. I've got a silver one on the way. 😁
Thanks buddy! Silver's def the better colour. I went for blue as I've got a few silver rigs and was thinking of painting it anyway. Maybe dark green. 👍
@@RCModelsandMods Good choice I had thought of dark green. I have seen a few full scale Jeeps locally that colour..! 👍
@@RC3DPrintAdventureWhere did you buy it and how much?
@@marvinmedina9027 I got mine on Amazon for £55.00 delivered. 👍
@@RC3DPrintAdventure Thanks for your response and Merry Christmas.
Brand new to the rc world as of yesterday! I was actually pretty happy that I would be able to upgrade this over time. I hope you make an upgrade video at some point. Most of the vids out there either have zero context as to what mods have been done or they used some no name parts that don't work well at all. It would be great to find a good source for good parts. Have some oil shocks coming in today so hopefully they work, the set I ordered when I bought the truck just leaked all the oil out! Looking forward to getting some good suspension going, some softer tires fitted and then I can paint it!
Welcome to RC. Hope you enjoy it
Nice👍👍
Cheers bro. Glad you liked it 😎👍
That´s a great in-depth review of the MN78. It didn´t perform too badly even with hard tires. I might try WD40 or boiling them to get more grip out of mine.
Thanks man! 😎 👍
Or soaking them in Simple Green. That works wonders.
@@wun1gee bonjour, je suis français et ne comprends pas ce que veut dire simple green 😮
@@chrisgibson8882 Simple Green is a cleaning product here in the US. I'm not sure what the French equivalent would be but I'm sure you guys have one.
I jus bought a MN78, I'm looking for some upgrades. what do you recommend and I've bought new shocks already,
don't know it was a good idea but I did. I like the video.
Hi. Thanks. I have gone for portal axles and metal wheels and new tyres. 😎👍
Hahaha bought one of these flash sale for only 23£ compared to mn99s this thing got better electronics and way more power aside from the little wheels the location of power switch which could get caught in rocks its pretty good i trim the springs to give it more flex and also trim the wheel arch to fit mn99 wheels and its perfect👌 it is also the perfect chassis for portal axle conversion as it wouldn't lift it too much and fit almost perfectly with mn99 wheels.
😎👍
I love that the wheels are the stock OEM base steelies. They don't look right chromed though. Paint them aluminum.
Good idea pal! 😎👍
good job 👍 friends😆👌
😎👍🤜🤛

Ran into you while looking for a scale replica of my 96 Cherokee. Loved the review and was a little concerned on the cons but I got one and have put it through some pretty tough test around my neighborhood and the parks and it drives runs functions VERY well. I have painted it red with A black bottom trim to match and it looks just like mine. I do have a few questions since im new to this. 1. Can I add one of those winches iv seen for the 1:10 scale and how. 2. Can I add a tow hitch? 3. is there a 1:12 scale tow trailer i can get? Great vid man love it
Hi. Thanks man. Glad you like your '78. You can add a winch but you would need to replace all the electrics with new stuff to give you the extra channel you need to run it. There isn't a trailer or tow hook for the 78 so you would have to make them yourself or from available parts. The trailer for the LDRC P06 would be way too big. I would suggest using the rear bed of the WPL B14 with a WPL axle and MN78 wheels. Here is a link to a 1/10 tow hitch you could use but might be too big. a.aliexpress.com/_msprpgc
still wating for some serious upgrades man
I know. Sorry. Appreciate your patience. I keep being distracted by other projects. I got the '78 off the shelf the other day and took it for a spin and I've got some ideas. 😎👍
no need to apologise im sure you,ll come up with something cool
cant wait !🤙
Things cool but the driveshafts absolutely suck The joint broke on my second day. Upgraded some alloy drive shafts in it and it’s good to go.
Thanks for sharing that tip buddy! 👍
I was actually very surprised with this jeep but yes your right about the cons . The controller is my biggest downfall with it ... and the size of the tires . Planning on upgrades but don't know where to look . Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Hi. Been trying to get round to upgrading for a while but not had time. Portal axles, metal driveshafts, oil shocks, and all new tx, rx and esc were on my list.
Just a suggestion, if you don’t like the indicators just take them out lol I’m looking into getting one because of all the lights and to put better electronics in it. Pretty cool for what it is though
Edit: basically just better motor and servo and maybe actual tires lol
Hi. Your right. I've been meaning to mod this for ages. Got a stack of upgrades for it. Just need to get it done. Stay tuned! 🤜🤛
Comprei uma na cor prata. Gostei demais, é muito forte. Custou 600 reais ( moeda do Brasil). Para comparação, 1 litro de gasolina custa 5 reais, ou um combo do Big Mac custa 30 reais, e o salário mínimo é 1300 reais.
😯
So the d90 axle upgrades fit the mn78?
Depends which upgrades you are talking about.
You think that body would fit an a trx4m frame?
Hi. Na. Too small
Hi, is there a 1:12 scale Ford Explorer that you know of? I want it for customizing it to Jurassic Park vehicle. TIA
Sorry. I'm not aware of one.
@@RCModelsandMods no worries. Thanks.
ok i like the body but i just upgraded my WPL c24-1. I am looking for another Cheap Crawler/Trail scale truck. Ali has sale coming and i might be able to afford a cheap rc. $50 cheap LOL Looking at Wpl C54-1 right now. But i am not sure. I don't get a lot of money so i have to do research before spending $50 HAhahaha
C24-1 all the way buddy
salut je l'ai il est excellent je ne regrette pas mon achat je passe des heures et des heures a jouer avec
Are all mn78 water proof?
Hi. None are waterproof to my knowledge.
Am I able to remove the hatchback
Yes
What battery is included? Hopefully Nimh?
Sadly not. 7.4 1200mah li-ion
Con un motor 370 mejores , neumáticos y cambio de electrónica va mejor.
Stop buying these bottom of the barrel crawlers. By the time you finish the upgrades you have hobby grade monet tied up in them.
Hi. I know what you mean. But these are more affordable for some. And how many people mod their high-end crawlers!? 😎👍
These so called "bottom of the barrel" crawlers are actually very good and out performing alot of the big name brands man.I got A RGT ROCK CRUISER V2 not a major name brand but it out crawls my axial all day. So don't knock these bottom of the barrel crawlers until you actually buy one and try it and I guarantee you will change your thought process about these trust me I did!! like they say don't knock it till you try it
😎👍
