    This makes me think that when someone says "heavy metal is dead" or "rock is dead", it's because the person isn't listening new stuff and just keeps listening old mainstream bands.

      I'm wondering if I ever see the end to this miserable period of time dominated by rnb and pop rap. Not that I need to hear metal on the radio but what about all the kids these days that don't even know stuff like this exists? Plus it'd just be nice to get a change of pace in pop culture.

    • @emmay3241

      if anything is a clear indicator that metal is dead it's bands like these.
      try to name a metal band that's still playing metal and doing something new cause this sure as shit isn't it.
      Neoandertals and Kayo Dot both did metal some favours but that was a decade ago

    • @primate2744
      @primate2744 Před 4 lety +1

      It depends on the metal genre. Whether it's your thing or not, slipknot and killswitch engage released albums last year that were pretty good. The "dead" factor is that you don't see metal represented like it used to be in the mainstream.

      I'm a stickler for this production. It sounds authentic like Ted Templemen was on the soundboard. Sadly a massive number of bands lack the punch/substance this provides. Granted majoratively these bands rock but the thin sound prevents me from enjoying them.
      An example would be Diamondhead new singles Coffin Train and the other single that begins with B. Yes Tatler can still shred, but the speed and vocals degenerate the flow of the album. There's no punch to the thickness of the album.

    Greetings from germany. Came here short after christmas 2024 because of an article in the german METAL HAMMER in an older issue from 2023. Never have heard of this band before but it sounds really interesting what they wrote about them who presented their second album about one year ago. What should i say: unhuman screams directly hit me in the first track and.....THIS IS GREAT! This is the sound of the eighties i grew up with. Quickly i was watching myself banging as hell! Playing "Air-Guitar" and "Air-Drums" - sitting in front of the PC. Afterwards one metal attack after the other! Unbelievable. So cool to have read about RIOT CITY. Would really like to see them live one day at a german concert location. I have to inform all my buddies from the scene they should directly listen to this music and buy the album. Greater than great!

    Riot City, You are the Best of the Best. I write this with tears (of joy) in my Eyes. You are EVERYTHING (and more) I expected.
    58 now, saw MOTÖRHEAD always in Düsseldorf Philips-Hall in the 80's...
    Drummer is a lot like Philthy...
    The whole Band is INSANE! Here on their first Release, there are some more quiet, instrumentally thinned passages, where I hear even more, how talented this Band is!
    I had to stop that Heav(enl)y Metal to write this review; otherwise I would have been EXPLODED...!
    I support by buying the Original CD, because, real reason, I MUST have it. And this my reaction, and also that I pray Riot City MUST live FOREVER doesn't happen very often in my life, that you love Something so much; anyway, listen to this and be healed and saved by
