A piece of art, directly from their hart, piercing my mind, ending with a winning cry of release in freedom,of breaking the wulfhide curse. Champions League's Winner!
It's fantastic music
Norway 🇸🇯 is the best on Eurovision 2024
As a Norwegian, I would say this song sums up modern Norway. The song is based on traditional lokking/kulokk (luring farm animals) and a medieval ballad about a young girl who is bewitched by her evil stepmother. She is transformed into a needle and a sword, and finally into a wolf who must walk alone in the forest. The song is an expression of the girl's fight for freedom. The curse can only be broken if the girl/wolf drinks her brother's blood. One day the wolf meets her stepmother in the forest. The wolf tears out her heart, and since the step mother is pregnant with a boy, the wolf drinks her brother's blood at the same time, and the curse is broken.
Tusen takk til deg! Denne er i en helt egen liga! Elsker den og din reaksjon! GÅTE ❤❤❤❤❤
The winner❤❤❤
gÅTE, ATE✅✅🇸🇯
in perfect world, this is winner
love love love this band! Norway - no way... FUCK GO ON💖💖
Thank you!👍🇳🇴🇸🇪❤️
I absolutely love our entry this year (I love Alessandra as well)
This is one of our best songs in Eurovision ever😍😍
I love Keiino, but the song this year wasn’t good enough. They participated in 2019 with “Spirit in the Sky”
When it comes to Ulveham, the intro is an old “kulokk”/“kulning” and the chorus is inspired by this.
The rest of the song is inspired by a medieval folklore/ballade
“Ulveham” (wolfskin)
[Sample: Vocalization; Marit Jensen Lillebuen]
[Verse 1]
I was such a beautiful maiden
My stepmother evil, my mother she died
She turned me into a sword and a needle
And sent me to the king's estate
And the anger my stepmother felt the most
That all the stately liked me best
[Chorus: Vocalization]
[Verse 2]
Then she gave me skin like a grey wolf
She cursed me to walk the forest alone
And never will I bе whole and good
Before I drink my brothеrs' blood
[Chorus: Vocalization]
[Outro: Vocalization, Storm]
I then tore out her heart
So her blood flowed free
Then I got to drink my brothers' blood
Nice reaction! I love this song with all my heart, after 3 months I'm still stunned by this performance. Gåte are an epic band that I was so so happy to discover.
When I was listening to the song before the Melodi Grand Prix started, I was not enjoying it at all, but then when I saw them perform there, I fell in love! 😍
From my stand, it would be a 10/10 if it were in English. This is mainly based on my own take on entrants singing in their native language, as I've yet to vote for a song which lyrics I don't understand, as well as I quiet simply think English sounds better. Alessandra's 'Queen of kings', on the other hand, is an all-time favorite
I think I like both perspectives, pure English songs and pure native language songs. In this case however, understanding the lyrics of the song is not the take away message for me. It’s the overall build-up, reaching the vocal limits and just feeling the melody and rhythm. On more calmer songs, I also prefer English to understand the meaning and story that is told.
