I just picked up the Jam Pedals Delay Llama extreme - a full featured analog delay with tap tempo, presets, and a variety of unique setting not found on any other pedal. But is there still a place for analog delay pedals with some many people making great digital emulations? In this video I discuss something things to think about when making the decision between the 2 and make the argument there's room for both analog and digital!

I feel the same way... limitations inspire me more than endless options ever will. I’m always walking the line between versatility and simplicity.
For sure, I dream of having a board of limited options but it’s so hard to make the jump
I really love the way you sound in every video... those clean tones man...
Thank you! I truly appreciate the kind words
This is a great demo thank you. Conscise descriptions around your reasoning and beautiful playing.
People like me don't have to spend a bunch of time bothering our local stores and figuring out controls to chose a pedal. Thanks again.
Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for watching!
This so good and done so well. Thanks man
Thanks!
Nice video :) thanks for talking about the pedals vibe, a lot of the demos show the Xtreme mode presets and that's about it.
I have actually just ordered one of these today, got a very cool custom artwork version with a gross looking red squid on it 🐙
Sounds killer! Yeah, it’s a great pedal - Enjoy!
Another great video. I love your channel!
Thanks so much!
Great demo! I totally agree about the positive creative effect of limitations too. I'm very susceptible to option paralysis, so a device that does a few things really well will always be more attractive to me. Awesome demo track too! Explosions in The Sky meets Mogwai. I need eight more minutes of it.
Thanks!
Bucket brigade ! It puts out the fire in the highs and gives you those wonderful round sounds. I must have one of the last working green MXRs - every repeat gets worse, and the noise - ouch! - but still ... Great playing and ideas as always, BTW.
Yeah, for sure. Thanks!
Cool pedal. Thanks. I’ve recently resurrected my line 6 dl4 “the green giant.” I got it when they first came out, it was my first pedal, and nothing else has been able to replace it. So far...
Yeah the DL4 is classic! I know people still go back to it as well
Sounds really good! Unfortunately, Delay pedal is far down on the “buy next” list. Agree on the Tap tempo feature.
Can you do a video about how you set up your pickup height on your guitars? I see that your Les Paul is set really low and I’m interested how you go about balancing/setting everything!
Those guitars!
I know this is an older video but I’m very interested in this pedal. I’ve seen some people post about having a difficult time getting a slap back. My only other delay is Strymon brigadier which is super easy to switch between slap and a longer delay. Just curious if anyone has any experience using the tap tempo live.
I don‘t know if I‘m the only one, but I don’t really care for big delay or reverb pedals. I‘m just using the hx stomp for this kinda stuff. I want to be versatile and I do care more about different overdrive/distortion pedals. The pedals looks cool tho, love the artwork.
Yeah, I get that. Depends on what style of music you play too... somethings just don’t need a lot of delay and verb

I Have been looking at this delay for a while, this video is gonna make me pull the trigger. Do you think the presets are usable in a live context?
Absolutely! Used them this morning!
@@MichaelWWestbrook that’s awesome to hear! Keep up the good work on the videos!
Details on that black Tele?
AVRI 63 Tele with Fralin 5% overwound pickups. Been refretted a couple of times
@@MichaelWWestbrook ah very cool! looks great and sounds killer
Thanks!
Analog pedals are often beautifully broken 👍 - in various ways
Absolutely!
