It amazes me that in his previous appearance there he started with the sentence "Well, here we are" and here he started with "Well, here we are again". I wonder if anyone ever noticed it.

Frank had such obvious contempt for a lot of shows like this, yet he went on them anyway. Kinda odd.

The way Frank announced his latest song ‘Be In My Video‘
It’s obvious he was just out to amuse himself.
Alice Cooper said he could have easily written hit records.
    But he doesn’t get Frank.
He was never only in it for the money.

Frank's music/words/wisdom sings to my ears and enlightens my mind. I know his music inspires my ears and bring motions to my soul. Frank developed a knack to compose music that only mean spirited people could not appreciate nor accept since they are probably lacking in musical and creative educations. His accomplishments are many including registering more than 10,000 concert goers to vote in the 1988 elections, being the first practitioner of digital audio ( with an ever growing desire in the late 80's to " bag the music " in some sort of dump " phone " procedure ( read: creating online MP3 music platforms before Napster and Apple ) and his consistent hiring of musicians ( Terry Bozzio, Steve Vai, Vinnie Colaiuta, etc. . . ) were always pushed by Frank to stretch musical ideas to new levels unattainable levels that other modern day composers such as Berlioz, Varese and even Beethoven could never do. Frank's authoritative actions including the glorious use of music demonstrating his Zen like mind of the sublime kind, a legend to souls with appreciations to truth, especially when he says " Music is the best. "

Truly a man that lived and breathed music, I didn't agree with some of his political views however his truly amazing talent made me a life long admirer. My goal is to collect every one of his records, I have 33 out of 64.

Considering what a disaster Frank's previous visit to this show was (some of the questions he had to answer were just unreal, did this interviewer do any research at all?), I'm surprised he agreed to come back later. They must have paid him real good money to attend this joke of a talk show.

I actually know Alan quite well. Have had many conversations with him on many topics .... you would be surprised at just intelligent he is and what a twisted sense of humour he has.
Whats great that even here with Frank making more effort to be out of the box and stand-off during this interview than actually be more involved in the segment, you can see Frank and Alan both get a kick out of the sloppy ride that is said interview. Both of them are great people.

I know what you're saying about Alan... and his son seems to be a chip off the old block. I saw Robin on TV the other day and he's even SOUNDING just like his dad vocally.

frank's sense of humor here seems well faded to say the least by this point in time. he's talking down to thicke, but thicke is quicker and frank is frankly boring him and the audience before long. i guess the guru trip went to his head a bit. 'shut and play yer guitar' for sure.

Interesting, Zappa type one each, Frank's so called music irritates my ears and annoys my mind. I would expect music to sooth my ears and instill motion in my soul. Frank developed a knack to compose sounds that only the mentally deranged can appreciate. His accomplishments demonstrate his evil master mind of the strange kind, a legend to lost souls with troubled minds.

    • @ioccatonyz1

The people I knew that paid money for Zappa records back in the 1970's thought Zappa made their collection more valuable. I for one differ, I worked way to hard for my money to give it up to the likes of Zappa. Zappa worked hard to keep his recordings from getting played by radio stations so the only way to hear Zappa is to buy Zappa. To me that was Zappa's legacy, collecting money from record collectors. As far as music goes I call it like I hear it and Zappa is "NOISE POLLUTION."

You're way off. He wrote in almost all genres. I really can't think of one left untouched. He worked in jazz, rock, disco, reggae, folk, show music, music concrete, electronic, on and on. There's some music that is very grating, but only a small portion, really. There's actually a good portion of his music that is quite melodic, believe it or not. He has over 1200 pieces, so I doubt you've listened to much of his music at all.
