    Infact we are not surprised in this country anymore. A country where people who have not even stepped a foot in a classroom calling themselves Doctors and whatever.
    Who made that npp guy kojo poku or whoever an energy expert? So we have all these energy experts and we can't even keep the lights on for a day? Such a mockery of what it means to be an expert 😂😂😂

    Our main problem is that we are not being led by intelligent people. We have potential for 6 more hydro-electric projects for cheap electricity - they're not thinking of building them. We could have built coal-fired power plants for cheap electricity - they won't do it, thinking they're saving the planet. Our contribution to global greenhouse emissions is negligible. Industrial countries are still generating significant portions of their electricity with cheap coal.

    • @jwills3347
      @jwills3347 Před měsícem

      You forgot solar..m

    • @fotodeci
      @fotodeci Před měsícem

      @@jwills3347 Solar is just another means of wasting our tax money on expensive projects that make us pay higher tariffs on electricity. My focus is cheap electricity for us all. After exhausting the cheapest means of generating power, like hydro, coal, nuclear, we can then go on to gas, solar, etc. Whoever thought of generating power for us from light crude oil and diesel is wicked and doesn't think of the burden of higher bills on the people and industry.

    • @KofiGreat-hb3oi
      @KofiGreat-hb3oi Před měsícem +2

      @fotodeci I agree with you. I have been saying these things for a long time, but no one listens.
      China recently built the biggest dam in the world to generate cheap electricity.
      We are here following the bad advice of IMF, World Bank & Western countries.
      How can we industrialize if we don't have cheap electricity?
      Ghana is full of jokers who only talk but know next to nothing 😂😂😂😂

    • @asempa_tvgh
      @asempa_tvgh Před měsícem

      Yes, the coal can be very cheap compared to any of these other sources of energy. But let's be realistic here, immediately coal starts to be used it value will increase and may cause a shortage in supply to the poor family who depends on it for their basic meal preparation. Thus price of coal will increase because producers will be selling to government for a higher price than families at a lower price.. Think of it.

    • @fotodeci
      @fotodeci Před měsícem +1

      @@asempa_tvgh Coal is already being used by many industrial countries for power generation. Are you saying that the price would rise only when Ghana also starts using it for power generation? Our requirements would be a drop in the ocean and would not have any effect on the price. Nigeria has a lot of coal that they're not even exploiting.
      Coal is not used in any Ghanaian home as fuel. Don't confuse coal with charcoal.

    Isn’t it a basic common sense that you have a varied mix of power. ( wind, solar , hydro & crude ).

    • @kwamosarp123

      Dumsor was caused by generation deficit as electricity was expanded. Pres. Mahama provided the capacity and yes the bought the fuel to power the plants that's why there was no Dumsor long before the NDC left office
