- Laying the Draw is a common football trading strategy. A lay bet is placed on the draw when the game is currently drawing, if either team go on to score a goal at any point after you have placed the lay bet you will go on to make a profit.
This video shows an example lay the draw trade in the premier league game between Leicester and Norwich. I walk you through my thought process on why I chose to use this strategy for this game and how I go on to make a 70% profit on my stake.

Thank you so much for this video, i ve been trading since 2012 but this video was very educative and informative esp with regards to timing of the lay-the-draw. We look forward to another video.
Thank you for watching, and thanks for the comment
Nice result, well done.
Thank you for the feedback Nicholas
Great video buddy 👍👍
Good strategy I do this on the most popular team just lay that way I can be wrong 3 times out of 4 and still be in profit with odds of 1.2-1.5.
Not a trading method I use but, just to let you know, if you want to squeeze a little more profit out of it, after a goal you could just remove the red and leave scratch on the draw.
You can then move some green onto the draw towards the end of the game when you can do so very cheaply. The few times there's an equaliser in the meantime will be annoying at first but you'll have lost nothing and your focus should be on the long-term as opposed to on any single match.
Also, don't use the cash out button - trading out manually is always the better option and will give you more profit.
Doing those two things should increase your long-term ROI by as much as 10% or 20%.
Thanks for the feedback, you are correct with what you say here. There are multiple different ways you can exit out of this trade, testing is the best way to figure out what works best for any strategy
Hi guys, what are for you the key stat live that can predict à goal coming for à team? Shot on target, shot?
Thanks
I reckon that if you're cashing out, manually or otherwise, you're just paying double the commission. Tbh, if you thought a draw was less likely than the market before the game started, or early in the game, why would you cash out after a goal?
Been following your videos for a while fella, good work on the bank profit. Are you hoping to do this full time in the future?
I don't really have any plans to make this full time, this is just something to have on the side for some extra income.
Good video! Now we need video about Cricket )
I have attempted cricket trading, but I am very much a novice at it
Hello, thanks for the videos, very good, im from Portugal, lets go improve trading the games.💪💪
Glad you enjoyed Ricardo
Good videos, this was a bet though and not a trade. If you choose to let it run are you still going to be profitable if your strike rate is 50-60%
Anyhow keep up the good work, i enjoy following your trading journey, i'm currently about 1 year behind you.
On smarkets is betting against the draw just full match result or not?
nice video, when do you normally look to cash out for a loss if no goals are going in?
Hi Adam,
As you might expect there is no one way to implement this strategy. In terms of exit points if there is no goal, I tend to either leave the position open for the entire duration of the match (strictly speaking betting not trading) or I would look at % loss rather than a certain minute to exit the trade e.g. cash out for a loss at 50% of your stake.
Hope this helps
Do you only lay @2.0 ish ?
Hi there. If I don't have betfair. Can I do LTD betting on 12 (double chance)?
Hi Aldo,
Betting on double chance home and away is equivalent to laying the draw, however it sounds like you are using a traditional bookmaker, which have significantly worse odds than Betfair and the cash out feature also takes a significant cut from your winnings if you plan to cash out after the goal.
Kie
@@KieMillett Hi Kie, thanks for replying. For example 12 double chance (FT) in 1xbet or bet365 it's around 1.4, 1.5, during HT (if the match is going draw). What odd(LTD) could you catch in betfair? Thanks again.
can you cash out automatic once a goal has been scored if you are away from your computer
You could set this automation up, however you would need trading software. If you have Bet Angel professional there are downloadable files on the Bet Angel forum to help you setting this up
