Ongoing petition to do the "Drunk Chefs remote control Sober Normals" here is why. 1. It would be an absolute blast and very funny. 2. It could be a chance to bring back James or poppy or a new guest chef. 3. It is SAFE the normals who would be cooking would be sober and in no way intoxicated. The chefs would be drunk giving instructions. 4. You can pluggy plug plug your Gin! Love you guys!

Yes, I totally agree with you! I once had a pinot noir with some goat's cheese and it literally killed the taste of both for me. It's not that they then tasted bad, but rather that I could taste almost nothing from either of them when paired together.

I totally agree, but lets take it up a notch. Mike and Jamie, who have some basic wine knowledge, don't know that this is what the episode will be about. As in, you sit them down and have different wine/food pairings. Some are designed to be good, some bad. They have to tell the difference, and why.

Basically, they're not stuck using only the grapes from their region.. So a Bordeaux can't use grenache or mourvedre or shiraz because they don't grow there, same way a wine from the Rhone region can't use cabernet sauvignon that was grown in Bordeaux.. But a Vin de France wine can mix both and call it a day.
So basically, regional wines give you more of a terroir feel, and broader appellations give more freedom to the winemaker to make something different (but you can also make cheap wine that way, because you can just buy whatever grapes and mix it all and ferment it, lots of boxed wines or wines that just say "table wine" are made this way.. You don't really know what's in it most of the time but usually people who buy those don't care about that information.

Hi (: I currently work in helath and social care. I was wondering if you guys have ever explored SALT assessments, an assessment often used to guide carers on what we can feed the clients we work with based on textures and them being able to eat and swallow the food. The assessments often limit food massively and ist hard to find many options to give our clients, there's only so many times someone wants to eat mash potatoes! I think it would be a really cool thing for you guys to research and come up with some creative and delicious options and ideas for those with very limited options (:

It was really interesting to watch this with only my experience through osmosis- I got the answers to the challenge mostly correct, save for a couple of flavours I wouldn’t have noticed without tasting the food itself. I am not a beer drinker typically unless I am at a brewery with friends I would always get wine. However if my partner is having beer I would have a taste and there are so many great kinds brewed here in Ontario. Also ciders, spirits, and even sake. Also non-alcoholic options which are decent. And of course beautiful wineries where you can get a flight of what they have to offer to learn more. Funny in wine country you see groups that are staying at bed + breakfasts nearby biking around to tour the vineyards that are pretty close together so that everyone can partake for some fun without driving.

A Sunday double dunt of videos! You are spoiling us Mr Ambassador. Interesting video, wine is still a bit of a weak point in my culinary makeup. So the Vin France scheme seems like good training wheels.

Definitely interested in seeing if Les Jamelles gets shipped to Canada. I'd love to try a nice orange wine.
If you haven't tried it, come out to Canada and take a tour of the Niagara Peninsula. Some amazing wineries around here, especially if you want to sample the syrupy Icewines!

As an Australian who grew up with McLaren Vale, Barossa Valley, & Coonawarra red wines (Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvingnon, etc.), hearing a Grenache/Mourvedre blend wine described as "really rich, indulgent, full bodied" made me chuckle. I highly recommend getting some big Australian, South African, or Californian wines (that have been cellared for at least 10-15 years) to get a lesson. "Vin de France" wines are, in my opinion, a tired/stale French wine-making industry desperately trying to catch up and compete with the other major wine-making countries that have been kicking French arse for 30 years. The French make some wonderful delicate wines, petite & pretty wines, that are excellent with delicate foods. But you have to go elsewhere to get properly full-bodied wines that are life experiences.

If the same applies for you for beer, you should try Schofferhofer Pineapple Hefeweizen. It tastes like zingy pineapple soda (but it WILL get you drunk) and it's delicious. Probably one of the best beers I've ever had.

I like wine, but I have no clue what to buy. I signed up for a wine club, many want to send you 6 a month, most will send you 6 a quarter if you ask. I recommend these as they send you things you might not try before. The one downside I find, I can't always find the wines locally, if you do find a wine you really like.
