    I need this! I just moved back to CA after my husband made me move to the UK with him and then abandoned me there after I'd sold everything I had here in the US. I'm back in college and don't have any money left to pay for it after the divorce left me with nothing.
    I can't tell how hopeful this makes me.

      Don't waste your time when has California ever really given anything out for free 😂😂😂😂 and if it is free it's most likely useless like food stamps and SSI which combined is enough about 5 days in a motel and food for maybe a week. So maybe just a little better than this offer. Which you think actual degrees are useless wait till you graduate JC which is literally the equivalent of graduating from HS. Girl I know managing a boba shop has a degree in psychology from Berkeley and that was the best job she could get. Thankfully her family helps out alot so her 20 an hr doesn't make her rent requirements.

    I feel like education is something the public should pay for... one of America's strengths is individualism, but it is also one of it's greatest weaknesses. Access to education is something that will only benefit society. Education isn't supposed to be that expensive anyway, colleges and student housing price gouge EVERYTHING. The healthcare industry is the same, slapping on whatever price that suits their fancy. That is the real battle we need to fight.

  • @temle7489

    Son went to CC for the first two years after HS and transferred to UC Berkeley for engineering EECS. It was a blessing because he wasn't accepted after HS due to the highly impacted program. for CS at Cal. We saved a fortune like 100 K plus. He even got free tuition at his local CC (you pay first and they will reimburse it). People should take advantage of this.

      thats a lie, nothing is "really" free, if people work at a place it means someone is paying for it, in this case, it's the tax-payer, people don't work for charity unless they're getting something out of it

    • @ryanbarker5217
      @ryanbarker5217 Před rokem +1

      it's literally not free. taxpayers for it. forever. at no point in those 'paradises' does the citizen stop paying for someone else's way. their healthcare is substandard to ours in so many ways, and as a matter of fact if a person can afford it there they have private health insurance. our liberal media never mentions that. indeed, there are a lot of things our media deliberately doesn't mention or our teachers won't teach.
      why does it need to be free? because you exist? sorry, that's just not a good enough reason. america is supposed to be about merit and exceptionalism. i hate to say it, but people like you make it weak, it dilutes the pool. the only difference between the haves and have nots should be the difference between the ones who work for it and earn it and the ones who wants it handed to them.
      ya want it? earn it. need money for an education? get a loan, then pay it back. want lower tuition fees? vote to have government keep out of it, they instantly make whatever they're involved in at least twice as expensive.
