    I am a beginner guitar player at age 55. I bought this same used amp to go with an electric guitar I inherited from a family member who passed. There was not instructions and FINALLY, FINALLY, I found someone who explain this with amazing patience. Your detail and simple explanation with providing the sound for a beginner to understand was fantastic. Thank you so much. I hope you make one to help understand the amps (ability) to download off the Fender site.

      Glad you like the amp ! I like mine quite a bit too. If you don't have the Fender Fuse software for it, you can find on the CZcams Channel called " In the Blues". The guy named Shane , who's channel it is, has the software link posted for free, if you look for the Mustang vids in his You Tube video library.

      Same here. 55. living room player. Can't read music, just mucking around by ear - making stuff up as I go and after 20 yrs with a basic $15 amp with no effects, got this one used 2 days ago for $80- now almost blinded by choice and trying not to get overwhelmed. Now i can get that bluesy tone with delay and some echo/reverb which I dreamed of all these years.

    • @seniorbeginnerguitar
      @seniorbeginnerguitar  Před rokem

      My understanding of gain is that it's the power going through your amp. It is not another volume control. Too much gain and the overall sound distorts. Not enough, and you don't get the full sound. I suggest turning the gain up until distortion starts and then back it off a little.

    Thanks for the video. It's very informative. I have this amp and I'm having a very specific problem. I'm practicing using a backing track that I pump in the amp thru my Android phone (aux input). I play along and listen thru earphones (I live in an apt building). So now I want to record myself playing with the backing track. I use Audacity with a Windows laptop connecting with the USB out from the amp. However, unlike the earphones output, the USB only outputs the guitar. The backing track isn't picked up by Audacity even though I'm hearing it (and the guitar) in my earphones.
    I'm hoping you or anyone else out there has a solution. Thanks.

    • @dbreardon
      @dbreardon Před 2 lety +1

      I know this is two years late but you could use a long male to male 3.5 mm cable and connect from amp headphone jack to your microphone jack on your computer and then connect your headphones to the headphone jack on your computer. That way you would get the aux input from you amp as well as guitar to your computer for recording and would be able to hear it through your computers headphone jack. But I don't know if that would cause a delay.
      Alternatively, you can buy a simple headphone jack splitter that you can connect to the headphone out on your amp. Then plug your headphones in the the splitter as well as connect a male to male 3.5 mm cable from the splitter to your microphone jack on your computer. That should work to record both output from your amp aux and guitar on your computer.
      BEST WAY: Another approach which is probably the best is to use an audio interface connected to your computer. With an audio interface you can even connect your guitar directly to the interface (so no amp needed), record the guitar and add filters to the guitar sounds. ALSO, you can just connect a male 3.5 mm to male 1/4" cable from your headphone jack on the amp to the 1/4" jack on the audio interface and then use the headphone jack on the audio interface to listen to the guitar and amp aux music usually with any delay whatsoever. This is probably the best way to go. The audio interface connect to your computer through usb so your can record whatever comes through the interface.

      @seniorbeginnerguitar  Před 3 lety +5

      @@freddyp4641 Ok FP - I too am a relative beginner as I started playing in retirement. Briefly, the 4 knobs left of the Master are all inactive when a Preset is selected (factory presets are amber). To activate one of the 4 programmable knobs, just turn any one of them and you now have your own sound which can be saved (if you wish). Turning up Volume makes the sound louder while increasing Gain increases the tone and distortion, if applicable. The Master is always active and will raise or lower the level of the respective Preset settings.
      I don't know what a "dry" sound is, but you can achieve a "clean" sound by pressing the TAP button at the same time as the power ON. In this configuration your presets will no longer work. To get your presets back, simply turn the amp off and then back on. Hope this helps! GP

      Not sure exactly what you mean. I think pretty much every guitar will have some static/buzz through an amp at high gain, even one with humbuckers. In a bedroom you have lots of volume/gain room with this Fender but if you need to play in a large venue requiring high gain and volume, you might want a more high end amp. Just my 2 cents. Cheers.
