Visiting this 10 years later. This was super helpful for me as your custom settings are more pleasing to my ears than the stock pre-set ones. Thanks so much for this.
Todd, thank you so much for this demo! I'm new to guitar and just bought this as a practice amp and was struggling to get the sounds I wanted. I love the styles you chose and was able to follow along and sent them up on my amp. There's some definite shredding in my future! Thanks so much and keep on rocking!
Somehow I feel your smooth playing style and excellent touch could make any amp sound good. Wow, Hendrix is spot on. Stranglehold and Beat It are absolutely awesome. I'm not quite as familiar with the White Stripes but I'm really super impressed with your playing dude. More reviews please. Keep the channel strong. You my friend have earned yourself yet another subscriber.
I just bought this at a pawn shop and for a beginner (been playing for about a year and 4 months) its so fun to play around with and experiment with the different effects.
Wish you showed the knob positions during this. I have one of these I got for $45 used. Great amp for the $...maybe I should reset it....takes some tweaking for sure.
great!...just bought one yesterday and I'm going through factory pre-sets before I start monkeying with it...I'm more a bass player than a guitarist, so time to start learning ....yeah, would've loved to see each setting you did, but I can fiddle around...thanks once again!! what you did do sounds great
Great demonstration. Been looking at getting one of these as I'm just learning how to play. Seems like it would be a long time before I'd ever 'out grow' this thing, so I'm gonna grab one. Thanks again!
Hey Bob, I completely forgot about the Fuse feature. I'll be sure to upload some of my favorite sounds on my account and send you a link. Thanks for watching!
Just posted a demo of the Fender Mustang 1 using an electric violin; your demo was very helpful in figuring out when to use the gain and reverb- thanks!
Gotta Mustang II for a month now n I love these freaking things. If I'd had the money I'd have got a Mustang III or IV on the spot. If you can afford just 1 amp either space or cashwise modelling can do a lot for you. They can do a lot for people out gigging too since the pedalboard can be left out, just 1 amp to carry around. I did check out several other brands in modelling amp but chose Mustang cause that's just my preference in amp tones n FX, plus the power / speaker size / price ratio fit me just right.
These little amps are cool. Just got one. You got some good tones here, thanks for the tips. I like the Twin Reverb cleaned up with treble and bass on 3, the mids on 6, gain on 3, turn off Bright and a touch of reverb. Volume to taste...
I'm interested in your comment about the speaker. I don't have much knowledge with speakers, as far as how the tone or amp would be affected/improved w/ upgrade to a Celestion. In this case, what could I expect w/ that upgrade? If it improves things significantly, it definitely sounds like it's worth the upgrade. If you don't mind expanding, I'd greatly appreciate it. Many thanks!
I went and searched on yt for Celestion replacemens and I'm hearing Blues Jr.'s that sound significantly better w/ the upgrade. Never thought of doing this and thanks for your response. Do you have a certain type you recommend? There's so many, greenbacks, alnicos and they vary quite significantly in price as well. Thanks again...
I could only find 1 8" celestion that had the right ohm rating. It's literally called the Eight 15. Rating must be 8 ohms. I'll tell you what .. there's plentry of room in there for a 10" believe it or not ... but any premium speaker will sound better. Fender had to pump out a $110 amp so they just poppsed in the cheapest they could find. I love the little amp though, and I mess around with Fender Fuse and the community presets all the time.
Nice demo thanks! I have a Mustang 1 as well. I know it has millions of tonal options, but I usually just leave it on the British '60s setting with mild overdrive, and a touch or spring reverb. Respectable Vox AC-15 sounds for 1/6th the cost and weight. ;))
Incredible practice amp for your music room. No additional pedals needed. I got one for my living room....as the larger amps and pedals stay in the practice room. I'm surprised how it delivers some warm bottom end out of an 8 inch speaker.
Can you send me a pic of your settings for the 59 and 57 settings. I’m trying to play somewhere over the rainbow for my wife , similar to the sound Les Paul got when he played it at Fat Tuesday’s. I think those settings would work great for that song
NIce review, thanks. I think the voices - especially the clean tones- were helpful to me and the others interesting. I am not clear about some things about the amp because I am still learning about it. There is a lot going on with this amp. I still have mine, but I also got a Vox Path Finder for the simplicity for now. This video helped me to know how to navigate this thing better with one exception. The voices have different variations coded by color; example- orange - in all the preset voices, green, red and amber ( I believe). Amber may be the orange - I don't know... I put it down for a while because I want to practice guitar more than I want to practice doggone amp. I am not really sure what the distinctions are and what they really signify. One must have time and patience with this. I have some patience but not that much time. I am not sure what color path you are following with respect to the pre set voices you use in the video. Please post comment / reply. Thanks again-
Hello, nice video, Can I just ask? Do you activate the distortion just with the gain control? You turn it up and the distortion activates? Because I don't see a drive or distortion switch, like other amps, thank you
Hey mate, im considering this one but my main problem is need it to be quiet and get the tube-crank sound. Does it good at low volumes? About talking level...
M. Erdoğan BÖRKLÜ Yes you can get the tube cranked sound pretty easily by turning the gain knob up fairly high and keeping the volume knob low. That's how I usually get fatter cleans with some breakup and drive.
I had one of these before it crapped out, and i'm pleased it did, I bought a used Tube Driver by Tube Works and the difference is unbelievable, I like the options with the fender using the included software pedals and such but the over all sound is very hollow sounding, I much prefere the sound of the Tube Driver....I can find all my effects that I need in my DAW.
My master volume has a thing where it jumps from nothing to super loud. It didn't do that when I first bought the amp. It feels like the knob is kinda stuck so maybe it could be fixed. Hopefully it's not an internal problem.
If anyone has this problem it’s because when you save a new profile to the setting it remembers the volume you saved and doesn’t adjust the volume until you turn it up to about 8, then it jumps from whatever volume you saved to super loud, just reset the profile on that setting
hi good video but I have a quiestion which is the cleanest pre-set sound of this amp I think is the orange F but I'd like you to clarify my doubt thanks a lot
Hello I want to buy an amp but I'm in doubt between the Mustang and Fender Deluxe 90. I I love the clean tone of Fender amps. What can you say about the clean tone of the Mustang?
Man i need your help brother. I have mustang 1 v2 and on the fuse amp. O will gladly pay you for the help. I want to dial in. Gilmout, hendrix, as dc, foreigner old school, british sreel eta priest and skynyrd. Man i would appreciare it
like what bud what amp can you get for this price that has built in effects runners krisp tone and downloadable content not to mention that it is a very reliable amp
There's nothing wrong with it but it is very basic. I've personally seen a professional musician gig with it at a backyard party, it sounded great. He was an older gentleman who was just tired of messing with bigger and more complicated rigs so he just totes around his practice amp. If you're picky with your tone, then you WILL NOT be happy.
I'm gonna get this amp. Just for home use and i want lots of tonal options so i think this will be great. I don't expect much from like I don't expect a tube tone at this price.
Visiting this 10 years later. This was super helpful for me as your custom settings are more pleasing to my ears than the stock pre-set ones. Thanks so much for this.
Your work is so fantastic!! I know how complicated it can be… Looking forward to see more tutorials :)

I love this review. You sound like the host of "K-Billy's Super Sounds of the Seventies" from Reservoir Dogs.
Fantastic review.
Simple and straight to the point dialogue
Clearly explained.
Variety of perfectly-executed playing styles.
Fantastic review.
Wish you showed the knob positions during this. I have one of these I got for $45 used. Great amp for the $...maybe I should reset it....takes some tweaking for sure.
Nice demo buddy! Your Hendrix just sold me this amp.
Thanks! Not all solid state amps are bad. It all depends on your play style.
Same for me looking for some modeling amp with good hendrix tones
great!...just bought one yesterday and I'm going through factory pre-sets before I start monkeying with it...I'm more a bass player than a guitarist, so time to start learning ....yeah, would've loved to see each setting you did, but I can fiddle around...thanks once again!! what you did do sounds great
Thank you for watching Tammy! I'm glad it was helpful.
Great demo! I'd like to see another video where you'd go more in depth on the effects. Thanks for the great video!
Great demonstration. Been looking at getting one of these as I'm just learning how to play. Seems like it would be a long time before I'd ever 'out grow' this thing, so I'm gonna grab one. Thanks again!
great demo dude, just picked up one, gonna rock it,
Hey Bob, I completely forgot about the Fuse feature. I'll be sure to upload some of my favorite sounds on my account and send you a link. Thanks for watching!
Where?
Awesome playing, Todd thanks very much love this amp im now looking for one.
I own a Mustang I. Your demo was very instructional. Thanks..
Just posted a demo of the Fender Mustang 1 using an electric violin; your demo was very helpful in figuring out when to use the gain and reverb- thanks!
Beautiful sounds!! I'm using this amp for my electric violin and it's awesome!! Thnx for the video.
GOOD MIC.. IT DELIVERS THE GOOD SOUND CLEAR AND WARM.

Got one last X-mas and it's been the best little amp I've had in years. The volume can be finicky but other than that no complaints. Nice playing btw
Great demo!
Line 6 makes some nice modeling amps for under $200 but I'd go with the Mustangs all day long.
I have this amp great amp

Sounds extra tasty....
Pop a 8" Celestion speaker in there and it really takes the tone to the next level. Great $25 upgrade!
Well, my impression is that it greatly impreoves the sound, more low end but tighter, more high end. Not as boxy sounding.

Or a Webster spkr.

I needed to see this... God bless you my man
Cool demo, thanks.
Haha about 6:50ish I was waiting for you to start playing bang bang the way Kaleo does it with the reverb
I'm about ready to order one of those. I just play for relaxation and therapy for my hands so that's about all I need..... Nice playing by the way....
Thanks, very helpful start.
Great demo of the amp. Do you still use it? Are you still happy with it?
good job todd, thanks for the video

Also clicked the 'thumbs up'. Great job!
Fender Mustang 1 20 Watt Blues Tone's!!!!!
I just bought a Mustang head and matching cab. Hard to beat for the money. Better than Line 6 imo
Thanks for sharing, I'm a newbie and this was very helpful.
Hello, nice video, Can I just ask? Do you activate the distortion just with the gain control? You turn it up and the distortion activates? Because I don't see a drive or distortion switch, like other amps, thank you
That amp sounds awesome for such a cheap amp!
nice demo!
I can't decide between this amp.. or the Orange Crush 20 watt...
i hear the wind... it cry's mary...
VERY GOOD AMP/ WHAT CAN I DO TO GET SOME COUNTRY MUSIC SOUND OUT OF THIS AMP???
Loved the Ted Nuget!!!!!!
That's spelled Nugent. He's a gent. LOL
Would not 60s British be Vox?
That's Surf Rider by The Lively Ones. I first heard it on the Pulp Fiction Soundtrack.
man I need to know what's the first song you played on the '59 bassman? or if you have any tabs. Thanks!
Massias Mazri Hey that's my attempt at playing Castles Made Of Sand by Jimi Hendrix. You'll easily find the tabs at UltimateGuitar.com or 911Tabs.com
Todd W can you please show us the settings for the 59 and 57?
3:22 I kept waiting for the drums to kick in !
I'm probably gonna pick one up some time soon.
which is better blackstar id core 20 or fender mustang 1 v2?
Hey mate, im considering this one but my main problem is need it to be quiet and get the tube-crank sound. Does it good at low volumes? About talking level...
M. Erdoğan BÖRKLÜ Yes you can get the tube cranked sound pretty easily by turning the gain knob up fairly high and keeping the volume knob low. That's how I usually get fatter cleans with some breakup and drive.
Thank you mate. I guess imma get me a mustang ii. Better with 12" as you said. Thanks again! Keep playing! :)
M. Erdoğan BÖRKLÜ Yeah the Mustang ii is awesome and you can't beat it for the price. Thanks for watching!
Dude by the Super Champ X2 or Super Champ XD you'll dig the tube sound
Ellie - Could you upload a sample of your violin playing through the Fender? I've always liked the sound of an electric violin . . .
Castles made of sand, fall in the sea, eventually
British 60's is Vox amp.

Almost 600k views....Fender should be paying you lol. I was interested to know if you can load in presets from the II & III?
hi good video but I have a quiestion which is the cleanest pre-set sound of this amp I think is the orange F but I'd like you to clarify my doubt thanks a lot
Hello I want to buy an amp but I'm in doubt between the Mustang and Fender Deluxe 90. I I love the clean tone of Fender amps. What can you say about the clean tone of the Mustang?
what's the best amp for pop songs in the last 20 years I'm 69 years old and don't like or need all the distorted sound and wild music
James Alvarez this amp has 3 or 4 settings that are pretty clean sounding
James Alvarez Great for beginners but for a good tone. Go with a Vox AC15 at least. Your eyes will sparkle just like your tone!
Thank you for the video. I really appreciate it!
British 60s is actually Vox ish, but sounds way better with less gain, brit 80 is Mrshall like but with some nasal Fender vibe
LIke i decided to put in my future video's. Bad attention is still attention!
Thumb down if you like my video, thumb up if you like it even more! :)
Do you like this amp better than the Line 6 amps in this price range?
Wow thanks for so many views everyone!!! I really appreciate the support. Make sure to subscribe for more gear reviews and demos.
just scored one...not bad
Is there a clean channel on this thing?? Still considering on buying it.
Have you uploaded any of your settings to Fender Fuse? If so under what name?
What's the other input for FTSW or FT5W
It took me 3 minutes to realize it’s a picture and not a video.
Man i need your help brother. I have mustang 1 v2 and on the fuse amp. O will gladly pay you for the help. I want to dial in. Gilmout, hendrix, as dc, foreigner old school, british sreel eta priest and skynyrd. Man i would appreciare it
You can download a lot of presets on the Fender site. Check them out. By the way, also check out the Android app Remuda. Works great with this amp!
what was the song at 3:25
Is it ok if I use this amp on a acoustic guitar
cir ledrez I tried it, it doesn't sound great
hey can i play boss me 25, some other processors and pedals using this amp??
Yes, that doesn't matter anyway
That was Stranglehold by Ted Nugent
Yeah ! Sounded awesome didn't it !
Does anyone know the difference between the mustang 2 and mustang 1? Is it just ones louder?
Jack And Delbo Band yep only more power+a bigger speaker and nothing else.
I think the mustang 2 it has more effects
I do not know why but I am getting no sound out of my Fender Mustang 1 amp can anybody help me
Robert Bernstein turn up the volume
Omg jesus you sound just like mahone from prison break

@@nejibob3701 yes
i see you using pedal hmm? too
Worst mistake of my life was to buy this amp, sucks big time, spend a few dollars more and buy an orange amp instead of this american junk
like what bud what amp can you get for this price that has built in effects runners krisp tone and downloadable content not to mention that it is a very reliable amp
nothings wrong with this amp

To be honest I bought this amp and it sucks.
