- Have you ever tried recreating a past paint pour? Today I’m doing a waterfall pour inspired by the one that hangs on my wall, trying to make a larger version with the same colors.
My waterfall pour is inspired by @PouringYourHeartOut , and is basically a straight pour on a sloping canvas. As you move the cup back and forth, it creates gorgeous layers along the sides and a really interesting center line!
My paint is all mixed with floetrol (about 2:1 floetrol to paint) and thinned water to a medium consistency. Paint-mixing video is here! • Mixing Paint for Acryl...

I really didn't think I was going to like this color combination, but it turned out amazing! I love it!
Thank you!
This is my first video of you. Those colors and pattern are amazing ❤
Thanks so much! I love trying lots of pouring techniques and sharing helpful tips!
Anna, this is stunning! I like the vertical orientation with the blue on top!
Thank you! I really like it that way too
Love Pouring Your Heart Out and this painting Anna.
Thank you David! 😊
I think it should be verticle with the blue on the bottom. I see an abstract of a Lady in a blue dress facing away from the camera. More so before you finished when the 'head' was not so close to the top. I just can't stop seeing her.
Regaurdless of how you hang it its beautiful! I love your work ❤ Thank You
Thank you! It’s amazing what different people see in a fluid painting!
❤❤❤
Thanks!
Love it!
Thanks!
horizontal for sure....it looks like a reflection on a lake/stream.....glad that there was not more cells in there. I really like the look, reminds me of trees reflecting on a lake with the sky peaking through
Yes that’s a good comparison!
Very cool!!
Thank you Paula!
This is so beautiful. ❤❤❤. The flow of the different colors coming out of your cup is so amazing.
Thank you! Yes I love how all the layers come out!
Una basé muy buena excelente ❤❤ eres crack 👍👍👏👏👏
Gracias!
Wowsers, gorgeous!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🕊️✌️😀😄😁🤗
Thank you!
It turned out great, Anna! I think I like the very last option, what you called upside down, the best! Well done and thanks for a great new idea! ❤
Thank you! 😊
Stunning
Thanks!
Beautiful colors! I think I like this one hanging either of the last two ways you showed it. I will have to try a waterfall pour when I can bring my paints back out. Love your inspiration!! ❤
Thank you!
Came out great!! Love the idea! Thanks for sharing 🎉
✌️💜😊
Thanks a bunch!
Upside down ❤
Thanks!
This is beautiful! I'd hang it vertical with the blue at the top.
Thank you! That seems to be the general consensus 😊
Ja u toj slici vidim lik žene koja hoda kroz mećavu...❤
Oh neat!
Turned out pretty.... Love the upside down orientation 💕
Thank you!
I think I would put hangers on all sides !!!! That way it could be changed because each way was/is eye-pleasing !!!!
According to the Left Brained Artist, the area of the canvas (and quantity needed), are calculated by length x width, then divide by 25. Your canvas is 12x24 or 288. Divide by 25. The result is 11.52 or approx 12 ounces of base paint. That doesn’t give you a ton of extra, but that is what you require in the end. I always make extra tho.
He is very scientific and I don’t doubt his ratios, but you need different amounts of paint for different techniques. Certain ones require much less per square inch, and others require more.
For techniques that use tilting to spread the paint (instead of swiping or blowing), I have found that 1oz per 16 square inches is quite a good ratio. I’d much rather have a bit too much paint than too little…
@@AnnaBlountArt So true. 🇨🇦❤️
So nice Anna. Ive always really disliked EVERY ring pour Ive ever seen (& Ive seen hundreds of them) but I really like this one. it must be a combination of it being varied as a waterfall plus your colour choices & it being many small layers . Really lovely. Well Done !.
Thank you! Since I’m not moving the cup in a circle it wouldn’t qualify as a ring pour, but yes all the layers are very similar.
Sorry I missed the live the notifications are screwy. This turned out great
Thanks! It’s ok 🤪
I see outer space, I see a wave curl as I surf, I see a Peacock feather in minut detail.
It is a cool blend of colors, isn’t it?
New subscriber. Do you have videos on how to start? I know nothing about this craft. Do I just buy a canvas and start poring or are there steps to prepare the canvas. I haven’t seen any videos for complete novices. At the end you mention varnish. Do you have instructions on this finish? You make this seem interesting and I can’t wait to try my hand at it. Thanks.
I have a whole playlist for beginners! I see you found my paint mixing video. You can buy bulk canvas packs from Michael’s, etc. and acrylic paints of any quality will work as you’re starting out. I do have a video on how I varnish!
Do you show on another vid hoe to clean up sides & back & varnish? Thx
The sides always get covered as I paint, though sometimes a bit of brush touch-up helps.
The back stays pretty clean because I tape it. I have a video on how to tape the back, and how to varnish, in my Tips and Tricks playlist!
Very nice! What varnish do you put on it?
Thank you! Check the bottom of the video description and you’ll find a link to my varnishing video!
You didn’t use the pour spout?
I didn’t… I liked the wider design for this one.
upside down!
Thanks!
I think Mike forgot, Mike, Mike, Mike, oh no. Sorry.
Whoops! No problem!
