It seems that a lot of fans would share my interest in the process of shaping songs in terms of lyrics, instrumentation, phrasing, and production--the whole evolution of a song from conception to finished product. Please keep giving us these glimpses.
The song was written for the Sheer Heart Attack album. Long before Sex Pistols :) Next to Stone Cold Crazy from that album... well, Queen created speed/thrash metal long before anyone else.
@@ewouthonig371 punk rock was already a term everyone was using by late 1975. So it was a thing. but I don't think that matters. What was cool that Queen was able to still be themselves after punk music was popular especially after they stopped doing heavy stuff. They didn't need to go back to heavy music and cash in on the hype. Even in the 80's when hair metal was all the rage, Queen just kept doing their own thing cause they already did that too. It's like they did everything before it was cool. Which in fact was cool.
Y pensar que Roger toco todos los instrumentos y solo se hicieron pequeños arreglos en post produccion... Faltaba que Rog la cantase.. para mi quedaba genial asi!
This isn't the first punk rock song like how they invented speed metal with "Modern Times.Rock n Roll" or thrash metal with Stone Cold Crazy. But this is so early punk rock. Queen was able to cover any good music genre.
this song blows me away
LOVE these RAW sessions. You hear more of the drums and bass
bass and drum in perfect synch - how it should be
Roger and John were like a machine, as Brian May has said many times.
Ewout Honig In this song, Roger actually played the bass
And the guitar, same on fight from the inside!

Sheer Heart Attack is true punk for me by Roger Taylor

@@kitko33 created?
@@kitko33 SCC is from 1970 and was hardly changed from the early days, SHA (the song) wasn't finished until 1977
I would love to hear a recording of this song from 1974 (even though it wasn't completed).
Only queen had the nerve and grandeur to out punk punk....love this version:-)
Queen did that 2 years before punk was even a thing.

Sid vicious supposedly made a snide remark to Freddie, who screwed with him from then on. Called him "Simon Ferocious".
Michael Broussard I believe he said to Freddie “have you brought ballet to the masses”

sheer heart attack has no weakness
Just read that Roger Taylor plays almost all of the instrumentation himself, Brian May only did some weird guitar embellishments.

Deacons writing was way better than Roger (for the most part)
