Hello, that "some kind of a liquid" is water. :-) The heat is conducted from the heatsink to the copper radiator by means of a heat pipe. A heat pipe has a mesh inside that uses capillarity to transport water. Water is evaporated at the end connected to the heatsink, it travels as vapors to the other end where it condensates releasing heat and coming back by means of capillarity. It is the principle of phase inversion cooling and it is used for a long time in PC coolers. Hats off for Imalent for implementing this technology into a flashlight.

In my 40 plus years of public safety working police fire rescue and EMS I have never seen a light on any of our vehicles ever that was close to this.... It's hard to believe.
If you're not on a pass through on charging how long will that light work at maximum without going out??
I have some friends and fire rescue they could really use a light like that.

Looks like a heat pipe. Copper pipe with sintering on the inside for surface area, they put some pure water inside and apply a vacuum it makes the water boil at normal temps and the steam moves the heat away from the heat source, way way way more efficient at staying cool compared to just a normal heat sink

I used to fix laptops and they use that evaporative cooling system to cool the component from a distance due to size and design restraints. The tech is about moving the heat away from a too small and hot point (ie a tiny super hot modern led back side). To a more open area where the heat sink/fan combo can go.

You have to use the turbo very sparingly. I have the MS-18 and the step down is rather quick, so it loses that extreme brightness pretty fast. and the light obviously gets extreeemly hot. The fan doesn’t do much unless you place it next to cold air like in your car or whatever.

I have always wanted a flashlight like a DX80 head but with a center LED for throw like the Acebeam X70 (7 leds for the corona and flood effect and 1 throw LED) and a MS12 battery pack in an aceptable sized product... lol maybe someday a company will do something like this.

I'm waiting for Imalent to make a flashlight bright enough to shine on the moon. 😁👍👍 But for now, they need to do something about the fan noise.

could you use a small block (maybe the size of a dice) of dry ice to cool the sink even further? ...can only imagine that this lumen obsession will not subside until you have an actual 1,000,000 hand held(ish) flash/flood/insanitylight....it's gonna happen
