- Dream Sleeper (ドリームスリーパー) is a luxury overnight bus hotel (高速バス 夜行バス) with the most expensive first class seats in Japan! (日本で一番高いファーストクラス席).
This time, I traveled about 550 km (340 miles) from Tokyo to Osaka, taking 8 hours (大阪→東京). No shoes allowed on the bus. And when you close the individual door, your seat will become a private room. (土足禁止 完全個室).
Right now, it only runs on weekends, so I recommend checking the official website as soon as you decide on your travel plans. dreamsleeper.jp/en/
☆★☆This is what it was actually like!☆★☆
--Osaka to Tokyo on the Dream Sleeper--
* No shoes allowed (Carpeted floor)
* The large windows were well cleaned, not even a water stain.
* It was great that it became a completely private room when you closed the door.
* There were too many buttons for reclining.
* The warm water shower toilet and powder room were super clean.
* I didn't hear anyone else snoring.
* I really appreciate the drivers' hard work.
A challenge to visit every country in the world... "Japan" is the "1st" country that I visited out of all the 196 counties in the world.

it might be weird but the sound of a bus running makes me calm and helps me sleep. It’s just relaxing in a way..
YES. For me it's the same when I'm in the car. It's just so relaxing. I just love to listen to some music while trying to fall asleep in a car, especially when it's dark outside (i'm sorry if i spelt smth wrong, english isn't my first language lol)
I used to drive lorries on music tours around Europe, when my co-driver was driving I'd sleep in the bunk and when I came back off tour I'd find it hard to get to sleep at home without the sound of a running engine...
White noise, it's not strange

I really love your videos. One thing I really appreciate is that you always make a note to thank various workers on your journeys. That's really nice to see, people working and having that appreciated!
I have been impressed with Japan since I visited there during the 1960s with the US Navy. This premium bus service is so typical of their impeccably well organized and disciplined society and would probably only work there, certainly not in the USA, unfortunately.
No shoes allowed on the bus, you have to wear slippers? The heathens in the US would be outraged, offended and tweeting nonstop about this.
@@djquinn11 we want our freedom back!!! 😂
@@bluntfruntac9981 You still didn't get the point, it's not the bus issue, it's about clean street, neat interior, polite people and in a word, Order. There's lack of order in US which is the side.effect of different cultures.
@@bluntfruntac9981 For instance, you must know many NY metro smells like shit and the infrastructures are shabby shitty. That never happens in Japan
Have any of you people that disagree with “Dragon Meddler” ever seen the buses and bus stations here in the USA? I have seen the ones in Seattle WA, Portland OR, Sacramento CA, and Los Angeles…. They are a TOTAL DISGRACE…. I am VERY sad to say. Numerous homeless people living right in front of the bus station… not just sleeping, but freaking LIVING there. They try to keep them away from the front doors but they line up along the outside of the building with there cardboard beds and plastic bags full of “possessions”, garbage, I don’t know what. Graffiti not just on the buildings but also on some of the busses. And on the buses… scratches on the widows (graffiti, vulgar images), dried chewing gum on the seats and floor. This is VERY sad 😞. And come on…. Anyone that doesn’t know the disgraceful terrible condition of our major downtown cities here in the USA… simply hasn’t been to one in the last fifteen years. And it keeps getting worse and worse and worse. It is a matter of what ethics a person learns while growing up and what elected officials will tolerate. “Defund the police”, that is the stupidest thing I have ever heard. But with at least fifty percent of the USA saying… “It is OK for people to do what ever they want to do. It’s perfectly fine if a person wants to drink themselves to death or put dangerous drugs in there arm” this situation is exactly what you get. America (once the greatest country on the face of this planet) has lost its way. And it breaks my heart to see this. 😢

I've been to Japan and honestly it's worth every penny. Only issue is that you might need a guide because it's somewhat difficult to find something really cool that not all tourists take. For ex. we stayed in Hotels where only Japanese people stayed etc. And then there's the issue of people not understanding english. Only the younger ones that learned it in school are capable of that. But it's really amazing. That was like nothing I've ever seen
I love everything about Japan, the culture the people and the foods, hope I'll get to visit Japan one day

It's such a cool thing to see because we don't have buses with cabins in Europe. Must be great to be able to dim the cabin and actually see outside at night, and Japanese cities must look beautiful at night. It's pretty pricey but it's such a unique experience I can see it being popular.
But don't forget you also have to PAY for that.are people prepared to do that? don't think so... and out of the goodness of their heart, the bus operator is also not doing business for free...

I didn't expect they can still fit a restroom in the bus considering the space the cabins take up! I was also surprised where the restroom is located... Like you have to go down a few steps? Just wow.
That is not as unusual as you might think. Most long distance and tourist buses in Europe have a very small downstairs restroom. I have used them many times in the UK, France and Germany. There is occasionally a separate underfloor bunk for a second driver as well down the same stairs
Bathrooms in long distance travel buses are pretty common

Особенно, поражает, как они беспокоятся о приватности человека, чтобы он спокойно ехал, отдохнул, выспался, даже в самых дешевых поездах. I love how Japanese actually change the shoes everywhere they enter. Here in Slovakia, unlike USA, we do take off our shoes when we enter a house/apartment, but not in a bus.
This case in the video is actually quite rare that it is a long-distant trip with a certain level of luxury service. We do not take our shoes off when on normal buses in Japan.
@@user-it2ye4yj1v I understand that it is not a regular custom in public transport, but it is still cool, even if rare! I hope to visit your country at some point.
Many people in the USA take their shoes off when they enter a home, it's not even that uncommon. Everyone takes their shoes off at my house or at least asks if I have a preference if they're unsure.
