His singing is ON POINT. His looks are ON POINT. And his acting is SO ON POINT, his reaction to Kurt is so sincere, it's absolutely believable that everything that happened between their two characters was real.

Unless you're born with a specific gene, larger pupils show a sign of affection, admiration or love. He did that.
