    Got these on o1 roush prepped mustang like them alot, I also found them to be good in the rain on the street, have not tried them in rain on track, they are a fun tire and work well on race track predictable and great traction, though I'm only putting 271 hp and 301lb ft torque to the wheels

    I was wondering what your use is on these tires. Daily driving, track days, or strip? You didnt mention treadwear or show anything in the video. Looking at these, or maybe the Nankang AR-1 on my '18 Mustang GT for track days.

    • @MrintheZL
      @MrintheZL  Před 5 lety +2

      I use them as my daily tires I've had the rears for about 2 years now. About 5k-7k miles on them. Tread is still very good, I think I can get another 5k out of them. I would check them out online for official treadwear. Will be making another video with power updates. I've also heard good things on there for track use.

    Thanks for the info, I was wondering as far as grip on the street R888R vs the MT ET s which tire had the most traction in a straight line? Also, road noise, I have the nitto nt01's on my zl1 and they are super loud... like a train is behind me... thanks again for the video.

    • @MrintheZL
      @MrintheZL  Před 4 lety +4

      The MT ET have more grip. As you saw I have to sets of wheels. When I know I'm going to the track or going out with my friends. I put on the MT's. The R888R's are noisy they also grip very well. They are a good do everything tire tight turns and straight line. Only bad side is the noise. They also look good on the wheel 🤷‍♂️

    What’s your RWHP at? I’m 730, desperately needing tires that will at least hook in second gear. Was about to get MT ET street SS but sounds like these are the better option.

    • @MrintheZL
      @MrintheZL  Před 3 lety

      I'm at 800RWHP, they hook when I drive aggressive, but do slip a bit if I'm launching the car on the light. They are good at cornering and for windy roads, MTs I just didn't like on turns

    • @xprocharged1
      @xprocharged1 Před 3 lety

      The MT SS will deff hook better from a stop or from a roll, but the sidewall IS SOFT compared to the 888's- the MT's almost dead hook from a 2nd gear roll in my 5th gen zl1 at right around 700 at the wheel- but you can feel the ass end shift when cornering or switching lanes sometimes. A little unnerving depending on the situation. Forget about rain- sketch fest.
      The 888r's won't hook as hard but will corner on another level and do a little better if caught in the rain. (Not ideal, but doable)

      Sorry for wasting your time. Tires take time to heat up. Corning is great, no slip on streets. Rolls and launches are relative. Both hold in lower/mid RPM. With 800 HP I can't 100% break them loose on rolls and launches. I can also break loose my MTs. But that doesn't mean they are a bad tire. My MT suck at corning
