Costume Designer Rosanna Norton with Her Original Phantom of the Paradise Costume- 2023

For the first time in 50 years, costume designer Rosanna Norton (Carrie, Tron, Gremlins II) was reunited with the Phantom costume and helmet she designed for Brian De Palma's Phantom of the Paradise. Actor William Finley, who starred as Winslow Leach/The Phantom worked closely with Norton on the costume's overall design. This is Finley's own costume and helmet and they come directly from his estate. Here, Norton enthusiastically discusses the costume and helmet with Bonhams Auctions' Joe Moe and curator Justin Humphreys. The costume, helmet, and other treasures from Finley's estate will be available to bid on in Bonhams' Music and Monsters Auction from October 21st-31st, 2023. The auction appropriately ends on the 49th anniversary of Phantom of the Paradise's release.
