This is not new to just celebrities
I've not had a close relationship with either of my sisters as we are 6 & 13 yrs apart. We have very little in common & since our mother died I see this distance getting farther. As for my sons I will make every effort to stay close to them unless they choose to alienate me some day. Then I pretty much will check in with them but let them live their own lives. Blood is NOT thicker than water & in some cases friendships can be better because those are people you have things in common with. Family does not always create commonness . You can't choose family. They are just born into it.
