Lagos Boat Operators cash-in on Okada restrictions

- Since the enforcement of the restrictions on the activities of commercial motorcyclists and tricyclists by the Lagos State Government came into effect on Feb 1., many residents of Lagos have begun alternative means of beating the dreaded Lagos gridlock.
Many have turned to commuting via the waterways.
The state government had promised to deploy boats and high capacity buses to cushion the effect of the ban which it hinged mainly upon security and decongestion.
So, we visited the Ikorodu Ferry Terminal located in Ipakodo Area of Ikorodu to find out the situation at the jetties.

Good alternative but plesse the workers adhere with the instruction on numbers of carriage don't overload people and be using God will make you land safely. I also support creating child fares that is how it's being done in a civilised countries which I believe Nigeria is one of them.

They can't show you everything on camera or CZcams. Have you gone there to use it yourself? Water transport can also be introduced in some other states of Nigeria. Have you thought about extending it to other regions and adding both quality and rescue measures yourself?
okoye ndidiamaka. Ofcourse there are rescue teams all around our water ways. Have you heard of Lagos State marine rescue units? And Lagos State marine police? Don't downplay Lagos, they know what's up.
Moreover we need people to train in marine technology. Get enrollment at Lagos State school of marine technology and also Lagos State school of maritime management trainers . These are attracting courses now.
