Correction: Jacobites weren't exclusively Scottish clans, but a large number of Jacobites did come from the Catholic Highland clans. Jacobites were just supporters of the Catholic Stuart Dynasty: the name coming from the Latin for James II & VII
(Jacobus). There were many Jacobites and Jacobite sympathisers across the British isle in Ireland and England as well as in Scotland. It's interest to discover that the Government troops that fought against the Jacobites in 1745 were actually Scottish from the lowlands, whom were primarily Protestant and had a distinct culture compared to the Highlanders.

one big note that's a pretty sad part of history was the scottish purge after the 1740's Jacobite revolution, after the battle that killed over 4000 Scots the king of england didn't want that to happen again so they executed many leaders of the clans and some of the clans leaders were all killed, the Gaelic language was outlawed entirely, the carrying of a broadsword was made illegal and the kilt was even outlawed I believe
But it was that purge that completely killed off a lot of scottish culture, just like the world wars purged the old German culture from Germany

So I have to disagree with you on the histories being ripped from the books per say. As for the tartans what you state is entirely untrue Stewart tartan is formally used by all of the SCOTs however they still posses their previous tartan as does the 3rd battalion of the Black Watch which they wear upon ceremony.

By the 1500s, Gaelic was still spoken by a large portion of the population, however the predominant language was Scots, not English. French was more common than even English at one point. It was the suppression from England that resulted in the massive decrease in Gaelic speaking people and those living in the North, and enforcement to learn English over Scots. Also, given the superior economy, quality of life and different societies & ideologies to the rest of the UK, is it any wonder they support independence at around 60% in most unbiased polls.

At that time most of the highlands and lowlands were united under the kingdom of Alba/Scotland. So they said, let’s get them back. So I guess they declared war on Norway. There was the Historic Battle of Largs in where Scotland won. Scotland invaded the rest of Norway’s land and then the Norwegian king died, and the heir of the Norwegian throne made piece with Scotland and gave Scotland its stuff back.

It's just Westminster are very stubborn and quite apathetic to the Scottish peoples needs.
Basically, they aren't running the show very well, Scotland has no confidence in Tory governments to make any meaningful change to peoples lives.
Funding for Scotland is based on the Barnett formula; Scotland receives a percentage of the money they send to Westminster in the form of a block grant; which since 2010, has dropped 9.2% under successive Tory governments, with many more cuts to come once Brexit kicks in. Let's be honest here.. WM is the English parliament as well as the UK parliament. Setting up an English parliament has been spoken of a lot in the past, but the powers that be always insist it's another layer of non required governance; so its never happened. England isn't the problem, It's WM's inability/refusal to change and adapt. If you really want an English parliament (which I think you should have one) then you must demand it.

How would you feel if all of a sudden the Pakistanís took over all of India and called the two counties The United Kingdom’s of South Asia? You would feel as if your culture was assimilated and drowned out, you would feel as if you lost your national and cultural identity.

Beetlejuice good question. As you know, the last vote was 45-55. However, the Yes camp made out that Scotland would be rich in oil. Soon as we voted, then oil plummeted. We are better off in the U.K., particularly financially. The yes camp just have not got a valid argument for economics, which should scare anyone against voting yes!
At the moment, the Sturgeon of the SNP (Scotland’s admiration Leader) is very good at copying the U.K. government and bringing out exactly what they say, but a few hours earlier. Where as, it’s hard for the U.K. government to come off well. It’s always easier for them.
We had a fair vote, we said no. That shouldn’t change. We can’t keep having votes when we get something the SNP don’t want. The Yes camp will ageee to ANYTHING that gets them another vote. Even if they don’t believe it.

They think it's synonymous with English, when really, it refers to ancient Celtic tribes of the island of Great Britain who spoke languages such as Brythonic. This makes the Welsh especially VERY British. We really need tk educate our population more. It's totally correct to call a Scot British, and to people claiming the word is associated with weird southern english stereotypes - well, people from the south don't like the stereotype either
