- In today's video, we take you with us on our first weekend of wild camping and hiking in Scotland since we had our son who is now a 23 months old toddler. I was a little nervous about wild camping with a young toddler but we had such a lovely time. I share share some tips with you along the way on what did to make sure it was enjoyable for successful and everyone.

This is so awesome. I have a 28 month old but we don't do munros with her yet as she likes properly walking and stops a lot to explore. She won't stay on the carrier for too long! We've not tried wild camping over the weekends yet but she absolutely loved our spring camping holiday last year.
It takes so long to get anywhere with toddlers! 😂 Have fun when you finally do get the chance to camp and happy exploring!

Totally showing this to my wife to persuade her to allow me to take my little girl wild camping 😜😜 Done 5 wild camps in the Lake District with my 5 year old son but really want to spend the same quality time with the wee lassie too! Thanks for showcasing the possibilities. Do you still get out together? ❤
It truly is remarkable how we perceive nature when very young like we see here. I really doubt if its necessary to bring toys for children or even if it its wise because most young people will explore nature though of course, one needs to vigilantly watch them all the time, especially if its rough terrain. If there are toys they're more likely to draw less of nature into those growing minds and just focus on the toy which of course they have at home. Seeing him draw on the walls with the charcoal: How many adults would think of using nature's pencil like that? Pretty resourceful at 2 years old!

Very nice ! Brought back good memories from our 1st family camping in a similar family tent in Cairngorms years ago when our daughter was 2 years old. I remember to carrying her on my back in a baby/todler carrier up to the mountains tops in the 1st years...fortunately she is walking the hills now with me, using her legs 😁 Well done you all to making it together 👍

I am definitely looking forward to our little one being old enough to take to the hills himself and lighten our load. Your pictures of the "view" at the summit when there was no view at all made me smile. Yep, that's how well the weather cooperates sometimes! You guys are very brave to camp with your little one! I'll be honest, I'm not the biggest fan of camping, although I haven't actually tried it since I was growing up. The scenery around where you guys camped almost makes me want to rough it out for a night, haha!
Hehe. Yes, that's the weather in Scotland! Luckily Ben seems to enjoy being in the mountains just as much as we do we so he makes it easy! Camping is just such a great way to explore Scotland. Thanks so much for watching! ❤️

And I thought a 6 hour driving trip from Milwaukee to St. Louis with a toddler (giving my wife four days off) was an adventure! This is awesome...and someday HAVE to get to that beautiful terrain.

Lovely camping experience! I loved your views from top of the mountains. We actually just had our first camping with the boys last week. They loved it, although I didn't sleep very well😂
