    For me, this is simply one of the most beautiful and iconic 4WD buggies from the 1980ies! So happy Tamiya re-re-released this again last year, 2017.
    Build, tests and first run coming up very soon!
    If you missed some footage of the box itself (which really is a piece of art in itself) check out the last short video where we "unboxed the box" (!): • One more box from Tami...

    In 1988 I bought my Tamiya Boomerang from the Ala Moana Mall in Honolulu. Built it with my Dad back home in New Zealand. Wonderful memories. Thank you.

      Awesome Tamiya memories, Matt! Wish I had discovered Tamiya back then in the 1980s with my Dad :-) Oh, well, I had a lot of fun with my Nikkos and Taiyos, and now I'm catching up. Thanks a lot for watching, Matt, I appreciate the feedback. Love to hear when these videos bring out great memories :-)

      Cool did the Ala Moana Mall have a hobby shop? Hobby shops are a dying breed, especially in shopping malls. I remember going to hobby shop mall when I was a kid and they had a built/unpainted Clod Buster in the window. Great memories.

    Great unboxing, I remember when my friend got a Boomerang back in 1987 I wanted one so bad (still do) thanks for sharing it with us.

      Thank you very much, Shayen! I remember I wanted Taiyo Jet Fighter back then (I didn't know hobbygrade/Tamiya existed). I eventually got one, but it's nice now, 30+ years later to get the "real one" :-) Thanks a lot for watching, my friend.

      @NordicRC  Před 6 lety +1

      Thank you and thank you for the feedback, Mark! Much appreciated, as I really spend a lot of time editing and doing the text files for these. I know it's not gonna be one of my most watched videos, but I do what I like to do and spend time on what I like to spend the most time on :-) Thank you for noticing. Most people will probably find such a video boring :-) Looking forward editing the rest. Love this classic buggy :-) Worth to spend some time on.

      I know what it takes to make such a video my friend, and to do it as well as you have takes commitment, effort and time, and I truly appreciate that. I found it compelling to watch :-)

      @NordicRC  Před 6 lety +1

      Yeah, I can imagine that your recent video took a lot of time to edit - finding/re-vieweing all the old shots and then editing it all together. I loved that video and appreciated the hard work you put into it too :-)

      Thanks a lot Rob! Yeah, literally forever! And it's probably not gonna be one of my "most popular videos" he he. But it's all worth it when a few other Tamiya enthusiasts, like you, comments :-) Much appreciated, my friend.

    This is my second RC car bought in 1990 when I was 12. With plastic bearings and application of grease on dogbones it wears very badly after a number of off road runs.😂

    • @NordicRC
      @NordicRC  Před 5 lety +1

      Cool you had the original from back then. Must have been a quick and cool buggy back then (still cool though). And yeah, these really need metal ball bearings.

  • @jdpaslRC
    @jdpaslRC Před 6 lety +1

    I see a year 1986 to 2008 on the chassis. Very nice kit!

    • @NordicRC
      @NordicRC  Před 6 lety

      Yeah, the original is from 1986 and the re-release 2008. It’s nice they add these stamps. No one can sell a re-release chassis as a original with that ☺️

    Great vid! Love the music 😁

      Nice, my friend! Uhh, they went quickly! Hoping to see the finished build on Instagram 🙂 I got this one on sale from Tamico back then. I think a little above 100€ 🙂

  • @RcBasherBoi
    @RcBasherBoi Před 6 lety +1

    Wow, it's built already? You don't know how much I miss building a kit. I wish I could build one but my space is limited. I do have plenty of Rc vehicles though. Bash on!😎🤘

    • @NordicRC
      @NordicRC  Před 6 lety +1

      Yeah, this one was build on evening times, with no filming. I have a hard tome finding time to build and film. So I also got a few RTRs this year. But I got some nice pictures of each step and some footage of some of the steps. Wish I had more time to build too :-)

    @christophercoconis2575 Před 6 lety +1

    Nice unboxing Mikael, One of my favorite buggies that I still need to get..lol Looking forward to seeing more of it bro!! I would do the dual shock frt conversion thou adds to it handling better :)

    • @NordicRC
      @NordicRC  Před 6 lety +1

      Thanks, Chris! Yeah, it’s such a classic look. Just love this. Reminds me of being a kid in the 1980ies, with the Taiyo Jet Fighter in all the toy stores. Nice to get the ‘real one’ 30-40 years later ☺️ Yeah, definitly heard the Dual shock mod improves the performance a lot, but I think I’ll keep this one stock. There’s a lot of other buggies in the Hotshot family that comes stock with the Dual shock, like the Bigwig, Super Hotshot. Or I’ll maybe build a Winger some day with the Dual shock. So this (and some day a Hotshot) gonna be all stock and 1980ies mono shock fun 😂 Thanks a lot fir watching, Chris! Hope your vintage racers are coming along.

      @@NordicRC Anytime bud, I love your channel and the way you do your presentations.. If I ever do start a channel I would love to get your input on doing things.. Oh yeah I remember walking into toy stores any staring at the Nikko and Tyco/ Taiyo cars trying to convince my parents to get me one..lol Sometime I'm going to have to get a Boomerang and a Super Hotshot for my fleet of cars!! A winger really Mikael now we're talking rare!! My racers are getting there thanks doing a complete teardown and cleaning on my RC10 graphite as I type this waiting for a goodies box to come in the mail..lol :)

    • @NordicRC
      @NordicRC  Před 6 lety +1

      Could be awesome seeing your fleet in your own channel! That’s really what youtube is for me. Sharing the hobby. I think the best advice is just ti make videos that one enjoys to make ☺️ Good to hear they are coming along. But yeah, takes some time when one would like to do it right. Yeah, a Winger would be nice. Not a real Winger body though. I think TBG made one too. And MCI Racing has the decals. And then a re-release Boomerang ☺️

      Thanks, Derek! Don’t get youtube-stress ☺️ Watch the videos you want to watch. There are no obligations here. Just enjoy yourself 😃 Ohhh... yeah, I actually had one edit where I showed the MSC cover up close ... but the video had to be cut down shorter ... just hilarious to see the MSC cover still in the rerelease ☺️ Thanks a lot for watching, my friend.

    • @NordicRC
      @NordicRC  Před 6 lety

      Yeah, having only tried the Bigwig and Thundershot, I for the first run with the Boomerang, definitly would prefer that one. I think, with dual shocks in the front, it would feel almost like a modern 4WD Tamiya. And I love the looks too 😄 Thanks for watching, Mal.
