The old saying( if you want something done right do it yourself) excellent job
I recently picked up a used early 2000s American made Telecaster to build a clone of my late Uncle Genes original Broadcaster. Gene played guitar in several jazz abd lounge bands throughout the midwest from late 1940s to mid 1960s. Along the way he picked a number of now vintage and valuable guitars his Broadcaster being one. The original sales slip from a Kansas City Kansas pawnshop dated February 1955 shows he paid $75.00 for "used Fender electric guitar that needs strings".
What a great history! Thanks for sharing.
Gustavo I don't usually comment on videos, but yours was such a stand out I just had to complement you on it. Thank You so much for sharing your guitar build with all of us!!!
Hi, Richard. Thank you very much for your kind comment! Best regards.
Gustavo, I had seen a CZcams clip where Trevor Wilkinson was being interviewed and he had mentioned that he had met Seth lover and asked him so how do you build a paf Trevor replies no problem just give me a piece of paper and I'll show you so the rest is history? Don't know but I would be anxious to try a second. But I am not a humbucker fan however, seems like true pas are half the only choice of the day's humbucker like around 7 ish?
@@gugarl how much that price bro???
Nice to hear real music while watching your video.
Thank you!
Watched the whole thing. That was amazing!
I too, used to avoid Telecasters like the plague, but thankfully, they’ve won me over.
What a labor of love. 😃
Thanks for commenting. This is my favourite guitar now!
I never was a big tele guy, but I just finished my very own. I love it.

74dart man so would I. I just seem to have about a 90% kill rare in projects I attempt. I sure enjoyed watching him do that and I really liked his soundtrack
Black guards have always been my favorite. Well done sir. Looks like you've got yourself a keeper.
Rock it till your final day, thumbs up and hats off!
Same! That black & yellow looks great! Much better than white & yellow.

Good Job, I had a Alder body that I bought on Ebay and had it custom made with all Fender parts and Seymour Duncan pickups. It was played on several gigs at Clubs can't even tell the difference.
Thanks, that's great.
I'm about to build a Jazzmaster with Tele electronics and this will help a lot. Amazing work

That's a nice project.
Thanks!
Stunning work...thanks for that
A masterpiece..no doubt!
Thanks, for your kind comment Francesco.
Beautiful Tele! Well done!
Thanks, Plasmafuse. Best regards.
I found out by accident that turmeric powder and alcohol make the most vibrant golden/blonde dye I've ever used. The more layers the darker of course. I've also used cinnamon powder for darker mahogany like colors. You open your guitar case and it smells like a cinnamon roll. Cinnamon also makes a great grain filler for mahogany when you rub it in and then hit it with shellac in alcohol. Nice build btw, and nice playing, if it was you.
That's a great tip. Thanks.
Beautiful guitar. Fantastic work. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks, Green Mas! Best regards.
Wonderful job! I picked up some really good ideas in this. Thank you.
Great to hear that. Thanks.
Love the song at the begining
Great tone on that guitar. Very tasty.
Bravo Gustavo!! Brilliant video!! I have been looking to buy a tele. Not anymore!! You have inspired me to build my own!! Thanks so much for taking the time to upload this amazing video!!
Nice job mate 👍
I clicked on this because I wanted to hear the Wilkinson WVOB bridge pickup and I must say I'm impressed with it.
I have a Tele Deluxe that I made myself a few years ago, and while I do like the wide range humbuckers I bought for it, I've been wanting a single coil Tele bridge pickup but didn't want to buy a new Tele.....So I bought a new scratch plate that was routed to take a Tele single in the bridge and a PAF humbucker in the neck. I decided to get the Wilkinson WVOB bridge pickup because it's based on a Broadcaster bridge pickup, which at 7.7k ohms is hotter than a regular Tele bridge pickup of around 6k ohms.
I wanted that because my neck humbucker is around 7.5k and I didn't want a regular Tele bridge pickup to get lost in the humbucker.
I've realised that my Tele Deluxe is a super versatile guitar because I can easily buy another scratchplate, load it up with pickups & pots etc, say 2 Filtertrons for example, and whenever I feel like playing a guitar with different pickups, all I have to do swap the scratchplates to whatever I'm in the mood to play.
Why did you use the 223 caps instead of 047s which is normal for single coils?
Thank you for your rich comment. Take a look at this diagram: www.tdpri.com/attachments/broadcaster_joenotes-791x1024-jpg.538585/
Built with love for sure.
You right, built for my son before he was born!
That was a pleasure to watch and great music too.
Thank you very much, Lee. Best regards.
Perfection!!❤
Well done! I love how you can see the grain of the ash through the finish. Looks like how the originals were done!
Thanks again, man! Best regards.

I was impressed, that was quite the construction job. I was impressed enough to subscribe. The only thing I didn't like was the color.
Thank you very much for your kind comment and welcome!
Wilkinson bridge...I walked over to my beloved Vintage V52 and looked. Cool, same...Wilkinson. Very impressive video, good job.
Thanks, Pete. Wilkinson parts have great quality! I think the pickups of your Vintage V52 are the same I used here. Best regards.
Outstanding!!!!!
Thank you very much!
Great idea for finish. I'm going nuts with a vintage blonde I'm doing now.

Excellent work, inspired me to have a go at building one myself, and reality is not expensive for a great build..! I would put in different pick ups, probably Seymour Duncan, but that's me... !

Great job in the guitar! Congrats!!!!!
Thanks!
Build one for me! Great job and congratulations on your new family member.
Thank you very much! Felipe is 4 years old now! I need time to build yours! Best regards.
bee, e, ay, you, tea, full work, Sir! this video has definitely inspired many of us to copy your craftsmanship. everything is right with this...the speed of the build in videography years, the soundtrack, the perfect representation of the relic, the look, and (for those of us who know) the feel & smell it must have (and the feel & smell it Will Have in 50+ years), the beauty of the final product, the precision of neck-setting......all is right. this video is perfect 👌 amazing job! i want to build 3 of them starting tomorrow. thank you for creating & posting this. wish me luck
It's so great to read comments like that. Thank you very much. Best regards.
What "relic"? I watched the entire video and never saw him relic this build at all. Mind telling me the timestamp of where you saw him do a "perfect representation of the relic"?
Space Alien - Sure! but, let’s first define the term “Relic” as it was used in my comment
Relic [rel-ik] .Noun.
1. a surviving memorial of something past.
2. an object having interest by reason of its age or its association with the past:
3. a surviving trace of something
Space Alien - you’re assuming that Relic is a Verb...not a Noun, as the English Language Dictionary defines it. you’re correct in that he never Purposely Distressed the Guitar’s Finish or Structure & I can agree that, though it was never a thought of mine.
Wondeful job!!!
Thank you very much.
thats brilliant mate, great video!
Thank you very much.
I'd sand the edges till they're round and bevel the top where your picking hand makes contact at the wrist. Beautiful t style, nice hunk of wood.
Thanks, Walter.
Nice video!! The music sounds great too. I can't wait to get my tele parts. I already have my lipstick humbuckers. Gonna wire it 54 ways. This color is nice but I might go with chilli peppers red.
Nice, let me know updates on your building.
Great video, great music background, great work on the tele man!!. Cheers.
Thank you very much for your kind comment. Best regards.
Great job! I've a laser to help with neck/body alignment (just a cheap "leveling" device, but super easy to adapt), and it was nice assist. Didn't see if the jack cup was an exact reproduction, or a more modern, radius-ed cup design (I'm guessing orig.). Thanks!
Thanks! Great idea.
Great Job, congratulations!
Thank you very much!
Looks great.
Thanks! Best regards.
Really enjoyed watching that, thank you 🙏 ✝️💜
Thank you, for your kind comment! Best regards.
I appreciate the fact you went and had a manicure before you did the decal @11:21
Haha this is my wife.
That is great looking tele
Thank you very much!
Wonderful, Bravissimo
Great timelapse.
Thank you, Angie. Best regards.
great build BTW!
Thanks, Kent!
Very nice!
That is a beautiful guitar!
I like the Broadcaster/nocaster era myself. Went about mine a slightly different way. I bought a modern Squier Affinity Telecaster and did a full vintage conversion on it to the '51 style.
Thanks! Is the Squier Affinity body made of alder?
Yep. It is thinner than a standard body and the neck's a bit slimmer, so I don't really consider it a true replica. More of a nocaster tribute. But it sounds good and it's a blast to play. :)
I also went with a modified Broadcaster/nocaster blend wiring scheme.
Great! What do you feel about that old blend wiring scheme?
I like it. I wanted to stay true the the functionality of a Broadcaster and it has some interesting possibilities. Everything from just the bridge to both on, and subtle shades in-between. The middle position, the neck with no tone load, sounds really nice. The only change I made was to the 3rd position "Deep Rhythm Circuit". Instead of a darker .047 cap, I went Greasebucket style, .022 in series with a 4.7k resistor. It thickens up, but without going muffled, giving some nice distorted rhythm sounds from the neck pickup.
Sad part is.... Why slap on a Fender logo? When it's obviously better than anything currently made by Fender! Great video and you're a skilled craftsman
Hi, Greg. Thanl you so much for your kind words. Best regards.
I wouldn't have done the Fender logo either. I would have made my own logo. This guitar is well above anything Fender makes, as you said.
Fenders making great stuff nowadays. Finally.
Greg McEvoy vintage modified, classic vibe, contemporary, modern player, player, classic player, vintera, deluxe, road worn, american special for only 949$, and american performer for only 1,099$ Fender is making amazing guitars at every price point now so not sure where that stupid comment came from
@@Spittin_Bars no joke I've a squier CV50s tele that absolutely smokes every mim fender I've played. The thing is so good its nuts. Will probably upgrade the pups in the near future. But honestly the feel of it is so ace. It plays circles around almost every MIA tele I've played too
beautiful guitar!!
Thank you.
Bravo Gustavo
Top top top! E além da beleza o som é espetacular!
Valeu, mano!
Beautiful
Thanks! Best regards,
Great job Gustavo. A custom headstock decal would have been a nice touch. Thanks for sharing.
