the fact you made it modular with upgradeable ram and cpu is genius, about time.... I see nothing but greatness in the future of this product. Another hit out of the park
Over the years of buying and using them I have come to really trust the GRS products. I’m going to order a few for my buildacades and another project. 👍
In your past few videos I've seen a few questions on if/how this can be used without the kvm switcher, specifically on an iircade. I'd also like some clarity on how this would be done. The fact that it isn't clear has deterred me from ordering either product. That and the high shipping cost to Canada ;) Still appreciate all your hard work to keep the iircade fresh and new!
The KVM viper switcher was designed to make it a relatively simple process to add the viper and still use the original iiRcade motherboard To get to work with out the KVM is possible..but u would need a lvds video board HDMI switcher buttons cables and so on ect. The most cost effective and simple way is with the viper switcher that already includes the viper SBC
Glenn, I just have to comment…. First of all, I have bought many GRS Products. Every thing has been more than satisfactory to date and I’m excited to see what is in the future for GRS. But it is time to step up the quality of video. I think customers would take your products more seriously if the sound/video didn’t look like they were shot w/ a potato in someone’s basement. That being said, thank you for all you do!
Lol I hear you But all the money is always put into the products not into the production Sometimes that small mom and pop rib place that looks shady makes the best food on the planet
Now I understand since I don't have iircade, I have ordered I also have 2 spinners 2 wheels and the 4to8 gate changer from you great products wry happy with all
In theory, yes, you would have to first either convert the original iiRcade Control panel that came with the machine to a USB which can be done for a few dollars with a zero delay. USB encoder Or B. You could wire them up directly to the 40 gpio pins on the Viper and we will have schematics for that
@@GlensRetroShow I am very much a noob when it comes to electronics (but had no problem installing your control deck), so keeping things simple would be key. But if there was a straightforward walkthrough for it, I'd definitely pick up a stand alone Viper for the old iiRcade board so I could turn it into a Christmas present for my nephew. I bet there are plenty of other people who held onto their old iiRcade boards that might feel the same way :)
If you wanted to plug the Viper directly into the iiRcade You would need a few other items but that's what the GRS Viper switcher board does. But if you didn't want anything to do with the iiRcade sbc, yes, you could use the Viper and some additional parts to make it work
Can I bypass getting the GRS KVM Iircade System and just get this and install it along with the GRS control deck and the mystery encoder board in my legacy iircade cabinet?
Not directly You would need to make a switching system and that's what the KVM does .and the KVM already has a Viper SBC included as well as the amp and other support items needed
Glen can I ask on this video more than once you said the viper cost $39.99. You sent me an email that says it cost $129.99 what gives ❓ I mean if provided R cade chip and easy instructions for Barotesa cool forgive the misspelling. Can you elaborate ❓
No worries. The 39.99 price tag is just for the SBC Viper all by itself. The 129 is the iiRcade Viper switcher board for that machine. That includes much more than just the Viper. It includes all the necessary hardware to switch between the two computers, the Viper, and the one built into the iiRcade

❤ I hope so.. want to keep price very reasonable
Another Awesome GRS offering! Thanks Glen!
I have one coming for my iircade gold. Looking forward to it
This looks really cool! I love the modular aspect and that it seems easy to run. Glen does it again! Looking forward to this coming out.
I pre-ordered mine recently along with the Boomstick. I've really been impressed with the quality of your products and can't wait until they get here!
Congrats Glen on another GRS innovation! Lots of applications for the viper and no doubt I have to buy more than one!
:) thanks 🙏 man as always :)
Buy 10 😁🤪
This is awesome. I love what you're doing and this is pretty damn slick

Thank you .. I appreciate the trust and that means a ton to me personally

Very cool, definitely need to order one to check it out! Decent specs for the money too!
Nice. Can you run daphne and the roms on this unit?
I'm interested in a bar top Daphne cab and this would be perfect for that build.
Yes you can and if you use the R-Cade it's an even better version of Daphne as her fixed memory issues and light gun support too
@@GlensRetroShow R-cade???
would I be able to hook up the old (original) iiRarcade control panel (that I replaced with your new deck) to this and hook it up to a TV?

So can you just buy a any 2nd hand iiRcade, and just pop this in plug and play?

Can you please do a tutorial adding ikari warrior sticks to GRS ultimate control panel running on your sbc viper on iircade cab?
Ikari warriors sticks with gate switcher on GRS ultimate control panel *

If I already bought GRS iiRCADE KVM SYSTEM do I need to buy this?
No..it's included
Where can you get the R cade sd card?
@Glenn can you have it boot to one game?
yes. You would just configure it to do so, or configure it to boot to USB stick like he mentions in the video.
Hey Glenn can you provide more info on the device you are using with your friends Babalooo storage card❓😁😎👍
