So I sit ON a chair but animals sit IN a chair??? English makes zero sense. How are cows IN the field!? Are they in the ground? I could guess if the grass was so tall that they were actually "IN" it so we could say in, but if it is not it makes much more sense to say ON the field. I don't get it.
