    Welcome to Bowlers Paradise!
    Storm’s new A.I technology gets its next iteration in the all new Summit Peak. Following in the footsteps of the original Summit, Marvel Pearl and the Soniq, this all new summit Peak features the super low RG and high differential Centripetal HD core. For the cover, Storm concocted the all new TX-23 Pearl finished with their reactagloss polish which is essentially the juiced up version of what was featured on the recently released Journey.
    Considering all of that, I decided to go with a 4.25x5.5x4 2LS layout. Besides just being a mouth full of numbers, this layout is a strong, continuous benchmark style layout for me.
    AND ON THE LANES… My favorite part about throwing this Summit Peak was how on the good hits, its just dead splits the 8-9. That is my favorite thing to see as a bowler, and when it’s right, its the ultimate confidence booster. That’s a feature I don’t see all too often in most new releases as they’re most often either very continuous all the way through, or they lay off and deflect on purpose.
    But sometimes your greatest strength is also your greatest weakness and on the hits that didn’t split the 8-9, the results were not there. In fact, in all my test shots, I only caught one lucky hit with it which, with how bad I am at repeating shots, is not a great thing. The good hits pushed 10 pins straight into the pit which was awesome, but needing the ball to go through the pins that perfectly to get all 10 to go is a dangerous game for most.
    But, I think if you were to pair this one with the Storm DNA and the Hustle M-M, you’d be able to offset that weakness pretty well for a couple of reasons. One, each of these three pieces has a highly unique path to and through the pins, so if one was isn’t working to get all 10 to go, trying a different piece is almost certain to yield different results. And two, this pairing would allow you to match the Summit’s surface up as necessary to get as idea a shape as you can out of it. Shiny might not always be the answer, so having the super versatile DNA and the clean and flippy M-M with you would allow you to take the summit’s surface to whatever grit you need and not shut yourself out.
    Moving to our cross brand comparison, I grabbed the Ethos from Brunswick and here you can see how this one and the summit like the same part of the lane, but as the Ethos has had a number of games put on it, it’s a bit weaker overall. But even though it might not have the hook potential it did fresh out of the box, the off hits were much more effective. The Ethos has trended more towards being a good on everything type of piece while the Summit Peak is more of a niche, high risk, high reward type of shape.
    Then I grabbed the Storm Journey and what I see is 1, a ton of overlap between the two and two, between the new Summit, the Journey and the Roto Grip duo, the only question is how forward do you want the ball to be through the pins. They’re all of similar strength with the journey being weakest, but the Journey is also the most continuous, while the Summit is more forward through the pins and the Duo is the most forward. As your axis rotation gets higher, typically those more forward options will suit you more effectively.
    But with that, here’s my recommendations on types of bowlers that I think would match up well with the Summit Peak. The first is balanced bowlers. I think folks with a matched up ball speed and rev rate, and especially those that match up really well with the Phaze 2, are going to love this Summit Peak. Being able to play more to the outside part of the lane and use some early friction seems to be a key to success with this one, and that’s the balanced bowler’s bread and butter, so this would make a great addition to their arsenal.
    The second recommendation is for tournament bowlers. To be honest, even though this one splits the 8-9 more than anything I’ve seen in a while, I think its going to required a trained eye to maximize what you can truly get out of it. It’s a niche piece which means you want to have it with you when you need it, but the occasions where its going to be great are limited. If you’re carrying 3 to a league, there may be some better choices. If you’re carrying 12 to a tournament, I think it would be quite wise to have this one with you.

    I am a more speed dom lefty. between a power stroker and tweener. I have always done well. with strong symmetrical pearls that roll a little early. And i see this ball and feel it might match up well for me as it seems like it rolls strong off the spot. but can handle a good amount of oil. Thinking of pairing this with the new Ion pro

    Man, your videos are awesome! I also love that you say what would compliment other pieces. Thank you!
    I have a question, I have a Hustle RIP and a Dynasty Pride from Motiv. What would another good ball be to add to my arsenal? I'm a 2 hander, 15-16 MPH off monitor.

      It could be, but I think there’s better options for league bowlers. This one is going to be pretty demanding, where the iQ Ruby, ethos, or even the Crimson Jackal may be more forgiving.

    I recently got the optimum idol after watching your video and love it! The idol will be my first ball out of the bag. Thinking about the summit peak as a ball to pair with it. Do you think that’s a good option or do you have a different recommendation?

    • @bowlersparadise2255

      If I had to pick one ball to pair with the idol, it would probably be the DNA coil, not the Summit Peak.

      If you're looking to pair something with a phaze 5 and a spare ball, I definitely would not go with this one. Phaze 2, DNA, Gem, iQ tour solid and Xponent would all be worth considering over this summit peak for that build.

    Hey man quick question. I have a summit peak used it maybe 6 games but for me I have lower revs, about 250-300, and low ball speed, about 13-14 off my hand. It’s drilled over my ring finger as is most of my other equipment my pso has drilled for me.. But I’ve tried it on fresh, transitioned and burnt lanes and it does the exact same thing no matter what. One minute it’ll hook and one minute it won’t hook then the next it’ll over hook… I can not get a consistent read on this ball at all. However my summit is one of my favorite bowling balls I have which is why I thought I’d like this, but this is the issues I’m having. Any suggestions? @bowlersparadise

    • @bowlersparadise2255
      @bowlersparadise2255  Před 4 měsíci +2

      Best suggestion would be to have your PSO spin it down to 500, get all the rectangles out of it and bring it back with 1500 polished (step 2). Sometimes the reactagloss gets thick and makes the ball feel slimy and can create an over under and unpredictable reaction like that.

    What do you think of the summit peak for a speed dominant player?

    • @bowlersparadise2255
      @bowlersparadise2255  Před 6 měsíci +2

      I think it would have a chance to be good, but not at box surface. It's definitely strong, but I hesitate because of how this thing just refused to swish pins around. For speed dominant players looking for a cleaner and more angular reaction, I mostly recommend Asyms.

    • @bowlersparadise2255
      @bowlersparadise2255  Před 5 měsíci +2

      If you're looking to put together a 1-2 punch with the Absolute, I would not choose this one. I would look more towards a Roto Grip Gem, Phaze 2, or an Absolute Power. If you want something weaker, I'd probably lean Xponent pearl or Zen Gold Label.
