At first I didn't get it until I realized. He was actually preparing them Incase a situation arises. Damn Snape's character is so good
And the situation HAD arisen - Lupin was obviously in the transformation period, hence the inability to teach the class for a while.

Actually in the books it is hinted that he hopes someone would discover the true nature of Lupins condition, leading to an opening in the position of teacher against the dark arts.

Snape is one of the best characters in the Wizarding World. Alan Rickman did a great job as Snape, nobody can top it.

He actually in this scene is givin lupin the ultimate shade by teaching his students about werewolves

Maybe he doesn't like lupin yeah but what he is doing here is preparing them as much as possible in case they faced lupin .
And he followed the trio and tried to protect them from sirus and from lupin when he turned to a werewolf .

So glad Alan didn’t decide to leave, no one could have be snape other than him.
Bruh everyone saying that Snape made them read werewolves because he was preparing them it wasn't, he knew that by teaching them about werewolves would rise interest among them about werewolves and that they would eventually find that Lupin is werewolve himself. He even gave them a essay on how to differentiate between a normal werewolve and a human werewolve. It worked and Hermione eventually found out that Lupin is a werewolve. It is all written in the book.
Snape is so pathetic if you think about it. This is a 33-year-old man trying to hurt his colleague who is just trying to live a normal life, all because of a high school grudge from nearly 20 years ago.
Hermione had her suspicions about Lupin being a Werewolf, from much earlier. In the 3rd Year's First DADA class, Lupin's Boggart Changes into a Full-Moon. While other students mistook it to be a floating Crystal Orb, Hermione exactly knew what it was. The continued absence of Lupin in the succeeding DADA Lectures and Snape teaching them about Werewolves (out of nowhere), confirmed her suspicions.

Absolutely perfection from the best actor in all the franchise of potter. He was so cool even under the most pressure when he was on both sides off dumbledore and lord Voldemort. Voldemort thought he had professor Snape on his side. But snap waa so good at oclamencey he even had Voldemort stumped.

The distain that Snape holds for Harry is palpable but in the end you realize Snape is gutwrenched and heart broken and truly had Harry’s best I treat at heart.
In books, he only wanted lily too survive
But Dumbledore convinced him to protect Harry after their death

Watching your love of your life marry your bully and have a child, then protecting the child who is the entire reason your love died definitely causes him alot of distress.
Also didn't help that Harry had every bit of his father's distrust and distaste in Snape specifically and Slyhterins in general.
If not for the fact that he loved Lily so much he wouldn't even turned coat, never mind protected Harry.
Call JK Rowling whatever you like but she does write such a beautifully tragic character.
@@YasaiTsumeWell, "the entire reason" is rather misleading. There were a few other reasons that were all essential:
1. Voldemort was who he was.
2. Trelawney made that prophecy.
3. Snape heard it and relaid it to Voldemort.
I'm pretty sure snape is protective to harry because he has his mother eyes, but everytime snape sees his father face in harry he immediately bully him

I loved Snape’s character. After the philosophers stone when Harry and the gang judged Snape like judging a book by its cover I knew Snape was always good. That’s why when he joined Voldemort I knew he was still a good guy as he had to do it for a good reason

I love Alan Rickman, I know he’s gone but it isn’t only the living we should love. The way he’s able to turn a single or two syllable word into a multi-syllable for emphasis and drama.
My one wish in life is to have been able to sit down and learn techniques and tricks from the greatest actors of my time and Alan would’ve been one of those actors I’d have wanted to learn from. Another one is Maggie smith. 😩

The movies make Snape more likeable than he really is. The movie makes it seem like he's preparing the students because he knows there's a werewolf. In the books, he's just hoping to quietly out him and get him fired. Snape HATED Lupin

12 ÷ 4 = 3 not 16 and I thought I was bad at maths, and you can't divide 1 by 6, now if you divided 6 by 1 you'll still have 6, but you can't divide a smaller number by a larger number, it's always larger divided by smaller and a lot of times you get some remaining depending on how the difference between larger and smaller numbers are, if you divide 12 by 6 you get 2 but if you try to divide 13 by 6 you get 2.1 the 1 is the remainder, but then again perhaps you got the plus symbol + mixed up with the Divide symbol ÷ and meaning 12 + 4 = 16 and 1 + 6 = 7
