Mick Brown's Life in Angling
Vložit
- čas přidán 24. 07. 2024
- He's the country's most well-known predator angler, star of countless television programmes including Wet Nets, The Great Rod Race and Record Breaking Fish.
Mick Brown is also an author and angling coach and has a staggering 23 pike over 30lb to his name. But, as he'll tell you, he's very much an ordinary bloke and finds fame 'very strange'. Welcome to the world of 'The Duke'...

Thanks to all who have made such nice comments. Made an old bloke feel very happy!
Still a big fan here Mick. Been enjoying your most recent book. I hope you are well
@@tommos16 Thanks Tom. Very well and still piking regularly. Nearly got enough for another book!
@@MickBrownFishingTV I’m not sure there’s enough time in life for all the fishing we want to do hey! But very glad to hear it Mick. Just found your first book on Amazon so that’s next. All the best Mick and thanks for the reply!
Mick Brown + John Wilson = Two best television anglers ever. Grew up on this stuff.
why 10 dislikes?
this guy is one of the legends what actually got me into predator fishing. well in mick fella keep up the good work 👍🎣
What a great, down to earth bloke. An inspiration and a person you know you could just have a riverside chat with. Best of luck to him, can't wait to see him on the box again. much respect, from one brummy to another!
James Morris-Knight I'll second that.
What a genuinely nice guy. I have only taken up pike fishing since the first lockdown and this gent has inspired me to keep going.
Properly one of the most
Likeable and down to earth anglers around, you tell from the way he talks he has huge passion
Great to hear that you're working with the Angling Trust to educate foreign fisherman to how predators and fish in general should be treated, good luck and thanks for the years of pleasure you've given all your fans.
I got into fishing at 43 due to lock down. I've only caught Jack so far but love it.
Have been to many of his talks, and had the pleasure to speak to him on a occasion. One of the nicest and wisest anglers in the country.
Mick, from one brummie to another, you are a true legend, humble, funny, and just a great all round bloke.Love watching your videos, and your fishing abilities are second to none. Bravo.
In my time as an angler I have bumped into quite a few of my heroes.
Matt Hayes going into a tackle shop in Dartford.
Des Taylor coming out of a tackle shop in Beckenham.
John Wilson going into a pub in Lenwade Norfolk.
One day, I hope to bump into Mick Brown. One of the nicest anglers of his generation,
Coming from a young lad who hasn’t seen his early days of fishing but him and hays are my favourites, living legends
Mick brown has always been my favourite angler. Hes such a humble and honest guy and is a great ambassador for fishing. We need more mick browns!
mick just seems such a nice guy and down to earth , hes the bloke you want as a fishing buddy and a friend
a tip: watch series on Flixzone. I've been using them for watching loads of movies these days.
@Ibrahim Bo yup, have been watching on Flixzone for since november myself :)
Mr Mick Brown. You are first of all a true gent. inspirational, admirable, honest, humble, Obviously educational to other anglers, passionate, and a true hero of the angling world. I can relate to your younger pike days as I was brought up thinking that pike were vermin and a food source, From a young fishing age I was fishing around my dad and uncles catching pike and taking them home to feed to our dog. I am ashamed now. If I was to describe you with just 1 word it would have to be = legend.
This is just bloody brilliant. Out in the open talking about subjects that brits dont usually like to talk about. Good on you Mick (and anyone that chooese to make a living from angling) mick persisted and it payed off.
Effort is underrated.
The most humble,happy-go-lucky,celeb type angler i`ve ever met.........a real gent !!!
Truly up there with the legends such as Richard Walker, Peter Stone, etc.....Mick can we please have some more programmes.
great interview I've grown up watch you on TV .this is why I love fishing so much
What a nice bloke! Loved his pike fishing book.
What a fisherman , love the education from these proper fisherman
Such a nice guy, he really is. In my top 3 anglers. I wish him all the best with his career and life. Going to be a sad day when the Duke is no longer fishing and in the magazines/internet.
I thought Mick In the Great Rod Race was superb, one of my favorites.
A great fisherman in his own right good on ya duke.
Great interview mick. Your an angling inspiration. I'm on a blank streak at the moment and that interview just got me ready to keep chasing another big pike.
Good luck in the future
Top bloke , top fisherman , a true legend
Micks story is a lot like my fathers, he caught a 15lb pike on a size 12 barbless hook with a single maggot. We were going for roach in the harbour part of lough Ramor. I caught my first pike night fishing she was 13 lb
Such a humble man, a really refreshing change for any celeb. Really enjoy your take on angling Mick. I also think that your comments on the immigrant fishing community are very generous considering how much you love your pike. I'd be a whole lot more angry and bitter.
Very kind of you to say that. We all did things when we were younger that we wouldn't do now, I did myself, so don't feel so bad about it!
good vid,i've seen all mick's t.v. shows and i enjoyed them all, from watching him on telly i always thought he came across as a nice fella, thats what he is just a normal bloke who loves fishing, and he's lucky enough to be making a living from it.dream job for me.
Mick you are my predator hero you and matt I grew up watching you guys love you both tight lines gilly
A life committed to fishing, well done Mick.
Wonderful person,respect from Romania👍
It's very true, I was asked once by a polish lady why I didn't take my catches home. She literally had no idea that 1) it was illegal and 2) it's just something we don't do in the uk. She found this really strange obviously but we need to educate not alienate these people and branding them all as criminals
What a legend! he is the reason i got into pike fishing what a nice bloke hope he enjoys his retirement from the public eye. Keep that net wet and enjoy.
My favourite T.V angler. An all rounder and gentleman. Would love to have a day on the bank with you , after a catfish.
i remember when Brownie caught the sticklebacks using the matchstick as the float! i was surprised he managed to tie that hook on though at his age/eyesight! (sorry Mr Brown) :) seriously i couldn't enjoy watching many others than i do Matt and Mick. and Jim Shelley. thank you Mick for the good times growing up watching you
Will always remember meeting and chatting with you at Leslies, Luton a few years ago... Even though I never really caught the predator angling bug but made my birthday meeting you that day :)
Top guy. Lovely interview.
you are a true legend mick.
It would be nice to to see more on TV from the uncle traveling matt and the duke of market deeping ;-D
mick you and matt should do a YT vids of the out takes from the Rod Races and Record breaking fish, a winner in my eyes, what do you reckon?
Sadly, we don't own the footage Darren. Good idea though!
MickBrownFishingTV Mick your the reason i sit in -10 on a frost covered bank in January hands frozen ,face numb and i love you for it .NEW PIKE SHOW PLEASE LEGEND .
@@MickBrownFishingTV I really think if you and Matt got together did a new style rod race, or something similar, every fisherman I know and speak to also the ones I don’t on CZcams allll scream for you and Matt to return, if a duo isn’t possible a solo pike programme would rack up plenty of subscribers and views in no time 👍🏻
@@itsmoyzehh3873 If only we had time and money to do it! Nice thought though.
Thanks for your reply Sir Michael it's an honour.
There you have it..one of lifes true gentlemen, brilliant.
Excellent
Thanks Nick.
Top bloke and in my mind totally on the right track with changing the attitude of our immigrant fishing community.
Absolute Top bloke👍👍👍
Total legend!
You sir are a gentleman.
Mick is great. Such a nice guy.
My biggest pike was a 15lber and it literally took 5 minutes before I got a hit and then I hooked the big fat beast
I have watched a few of these "life in angling" video's mostly from match anglers which is the type of fishing i'm interested in, I can say without any doubt this is the best one of them ive ever seen, and i have never fished for pike in my life!.Mick come's across as a true down to earth gentleman and someone all fisherman should inspire to be like.
Brilliant man
Hi Mark - I rarely tend to go further north than Spalding but had a few whackers up there. You are dead right about the problem of people taking fish. I reckon thats why a lot of people are now voting for UKIP!
duke yer a true legend in your game....if you are reading this i am a boston lincolnshire lad and fished the lincs fen waters all my life the best fish weighed 27lb i'm just wandering if you have fished our local waters and if you have any sucsess on them....I afraid our waters aint the same as years gone by dare i say it we got a very large influx of foreiners in the town and have allmost clend the rivers up...rip boston waters and drains....hope you read this and give me a reply
You're never too old to fish. Mick himself is 67 this year so almost the same age as you.
ve got your dvds and watched many hours of television programmes,i prefer to watch what you do best is catching pike.i have watched you in many countries fishing on the television with matt hayes.i used to fish myself when i was younger but i am seventy now a little to old to begin again.
Someone needs to make an app, multi language, explaining the uk rules and norms, would solve some of the issue. Great mini bio about sir michael. :)
Legend great prediter fisherman was brought up on mike and matt that's how I fish today simple and affective
top man sir Michael
legend...
Mick Brown ..top bloke!
cool story =)
Hi Mick loved your interview I'm a pike fisherman , I love the sport my faverite place to go is Dobbs Weir , but it's dead I fished the place two days running nothing then I found out why I caught two anglers with pike in there tackle box I told the bailiff but he was not bothered what can I do he said I'm on my own sad state of affairs he did not even charge me for fishing there can you comment please ps have a nice Xmas and a better new year ttfn
The duke Mick Brown
It was about 4 1/2 lb Chris, well worth catching!
Has anyone seen the photo of the pike with the bloody big Eel still in it's mouth that Mick caught? The Pike was pretty big but so was the Eel definately a speciman.
Top bloke top angler
Will there ever be a Kevin Ashurst video? :-)
There sure should be. The most natural match fishing legend ever!
Some big ole pike in them fen drains
Nice polite, humble modest sort of a man, the complete opposite to Prat Hayes!
I do wonder how these 2 ever got along being polar opposites as human beings,
a lot of polish people came down to my local water about 5 mins walk and they camp out there and only fed of the pike in there and they eat the only 20 pounder in the lake
I love this guy. If i ever catch anyone throwing ANY fish on the bank or killing for no reason there will be hell to pay. Im not afraid to whoop your fuckin ass.
chris yates, john wilson and sir mick brown in no order must be the best in fishermen we would love to see more off on uk tele, and not robson bloody green or wot ever his name is.. great video.
Mick said the fivers in the post!
do another show with matt already.....
Unfortunately pike poaching seems to have increased 😢
Back when men were men! His dad was out fishing when his mum was sweating and screaming giving birth.
Try doing that today! ;-)
Polish people need to be told you do not kill pike pike fishing is one great sport please if you live here respect us don't eat our pike don't forget you now live here to so think what you are doing catch and release please if your hungry go sea fishing eat what your heart desires but abide by the law we are all one don't kill pike thanks gilly
It isn't just the anglers taking the fish though Mick, yes people are the worst predators of all but you a not ignore the massive damage caused by cormorants and that other " man created" problem caused by releasing Otters over our entire country!
Down to earth, describes him to a a T.Words apart from that irritating John Wilson, with his pointless laughter every time he opens his mouth
lotta bullshit, matt hayes carried him all the way, he has never been very good at pike fishing, just the right guy with the right contacts, average angler at best
ty rone bollocks!
ty rone long before matt hayes mick was a legend just not on TV try reading a book.
read a book, try growing up! dickwad, i was caching bigger pike 10 years before the guy thought he was a legend in his own pot noodle
ty rone try growing up dickwad! Yeah that makes sense 😂
post ur facebook page? or email? i will chat with you all day, somehow i am 100% sure u wont or you will bullshit your way through it, trolls always do lmao
