As the detectives interrogate David, they gradually uncover inconsistencies in his narrative, leading to a growing suspicion. Unbeknownst to them, the reality of the situation is far more sinister and shocking than they could have ever anticipated.

It's a major red flag for police when you don't want to talk to them about your dead wife. Refusing to speak would make them zone in on him like a hawk. Guilty criminals often try to talk their way out of it to be ruled out as a suspect.

Not seeing many comments regarding this, but I find the detective's approach here to be both refreshing and extremely effective. So many detectives go in with this underlying accusatory tone and one of authority. It was perfect to put her in there -- you almost forget she's a detective by remaining calm, composed, and gentle. Flawless interrogation work, I doubt the department would've gotten much out of him if she wasn't the one sitting opposite him.

My husband passed away a couple of months ago . He just collapsed in front of our teenage daughter and I. He was a 6 ft 3 300 plus pound man. He was sitting in his chair when he collapsed, so he kind of just folded over on his side. So, he was kind of half in his chair and half out of his chair. So when I went to do CPR, I had to get him flat. I did it. Normally, I wouldn't have been able to do it. I knew he needed CPR ASAP, so I made sure I got him flat on the ground to do cpr. My point is that the detectives are right about that. First of all, she was a much smaller woman than he was a man, and in those sorts of moments with adrenaline, and when you love somebody, you will basically do whatever you can to help them. Unfortunately, my husband wasn't able to be saved. I could tell by his act he put on. The way he was hysterically crying but then he would just be fine. I'm glad that he was convicted.

Its amazing how many of these interrogation videos have a suspect that is agreeable and answers every question, as if they want to help, but forget to act concerned about the missing/dead person.
To be fair☝️you need to keep in mind that you are only seeing a portion of the interaction in any of these videos. This might not be the first day or the first time that they went over everything that day. They will make them repeat themselves several times if they feel they need to. And they usually ask for their life story especially with spouses, family, or friends.
