Our 2024 Oscar Predictions

The Oscar nominations came out recently for the 2024 Academy Awards, and they’re full of amazing performances and movies. And yes, while it’s always fun to talk about who got snubbed, it’s also great to celebrate the amazing people who got nominated. In this video, we’re taking a deep dive into the main 4 acting categories. We’ll take a look at each actor or actress who was nominated, and take a look at their Oscar experience. There are several Hollywood veterans on this list who, not surprisingly, have a lot of nominations under their belt. But one thing we found pretty wild is that of the 20 total nominees, only three have ever actually won an Oscar before. We also discovered that 50% of the nominees are being given that honor for the first time. It’s a fun blend of rookies and veterans in this group. We’ll also break down the favorites for each category. While there are always Oscar night surprises (and occasional flubs… hello Moonlight and La La Land) there are also some pretty solid numbers showing the betting favorites for each category.
So we’ll cover each of the current favorites, as well as who is currently in the runner-up positions, according to the Las Vegas odds.
We’ll also take a look at the monster that is Oppenheimer, with its 13 nominations, and see how that stacks up against other major movies with a lot of nominations. And finally, we’ll take a look at the two biggest snubs, and how their co-star put out a statement supporting them.

Much like last year with Brendan Fraser and Austin Butler, the Best Actor category could could either way, with Cillian Murphy and Paul Giamatti being the most likely to take home the Oscar. I'd honestly be happy if either won. I hope that Lily Gladstone wins Best Actress.

Barbie is trash. It's basically a modern take on Pinnochio. The acting is mid. Oppenheimer is a superior film with top notch acting across the board.
