  • We arrive at Castleton Caravan And Motorhome Club Site in the Peak District. We follow the Caravan and Motorhome Club recommended route for this site, which avoids the narrow, steep Winnats Pass and driving through the busy village of Castleton.

    I’ve been to this site. We did the Devils Arse caves. The guide was fantastic and very knowledgeable. We got slightly “Blue Johned out” though so they allowed us to transfer our booking to Chatsworth and we really enjoyed it there. 😊

    Hi Bob & Jenny. Just found your channel. We bought our first motor home late Nov 2021. A 54 plate Swift Sundance 530LP 2 berth. Its my 60th birthday on 10th Jan 22. We are thinking of coming to the Castleton Caravan & Motorhome Club site for the weekend of 8th to 10th Jan 22. For 2 nights, leaving on Monday 10th Jan. We live at Worksop, so its only just over an hour away from our home. We have joined the Caravan & Motorhome Club. We too have a Westie. She is called Sally, and will be 14 years old on 22nd Jan 22. We also have a 7 year old Cockapoo called Sadie. We will be bringing the dogs with us. You have got our sub, and I look forward to viewing more of your video's. Thanks for sharing your adventures.

Seems slightly odd after watching lots of your other videos, to see roads and houses flashing by that I personally know so well on your way up to Castleton.

    Hello Bob and Jenny from here in overcast Macclesfield! As caravaners contemplating motor homing we're enjoying your videos which we have just discovered. Some of the sites you visit we have been to which makes it more interesting as well. Could I ask, why do you put the cover on the front window on the outside instead of using the van blinds? We're assuming as experienced campers you've found this is better, but why? Regards Karen Ledgar.

    • @BobEarnshawMoHo
      @BobEarnshawMoHo  Před 2 lety

      Thanks for the question, Quite a few reasons. Compared to the Remis blinds: In the summer it reflects the heat better and keeps the cab cool. In the winter it helps keeps the heat in. It stops condensation forming on the inside of the cab window. It provides better privacy. Finally it means I can leave my dashcam and GoPro camera mounted to the winscreen.

    Great video again thank you. When you were talking about non-awning pitches it made me wonder if a rollout Fiamma type awning is allowed or is that stretching the point a bit? Keep up the good work!

    • @BobEarnshawMoHo
      @BobEarnshawMoHo  Před 2 lety +1

      It depends on the site managers, best to ask. We were allowed to put out a canopy on a non awning pitch at Bunree when we asked.

    All these roadworks are everywhere, it really does grind my gears, they could of done all these last year in the lockdown. Virtually no traffic when everyone was told to stay indoors anddont go out or you will die...On a lighter note, we really like Castleton Site as its a gentle walk into the village with a few nice pubs and places to eat.
