    For anyone who is scared of doing this like me, don't be! Just follow the instructions and stick to standard options.
    MY TIPS:
    1. Leave engine on when coding, then restart car once told so to re-write module.
    2. Code things one at a time. DON'T make 2 changes before writing.
    3. Go airplane mode w/ bluetooth connection.
    4. You can share with friends! Only need to buy one account and dongle. Works on multiple cars, meaning you can split the cost with someone like I did.

    The latest CARLY app and adaptor are great when they work, BUT after two adaptors (apparently CARLY know they have issues with the current adaptor) it doesn't work. The app simply won't recognise and connect to the adaptor.
    The PC based MAXIECU software and hardwired USB OBD2 adaptor are far more reliable. They also have a WiFi/Bluetooth adaptor option as well.

    Hey Ryan! Apart from the cost of the adapter, do you have to pay mensual or anual fee for using Carly? In their web says something about 4-6 euros monthly charged anually. I just wanted to make some coding and not really use it again so I was not thinking on paying one year.

      I just got my hands on a 1999 323i E46 and well it could be possible that the 2000 also uses a different port for other coding/programming functions. When you scan the car, can you read all the components? The older ones use a different plug in located in the engine bay compartment, not sure if it is for coding, or programming or both, but I used this port to scan the car. This may only work on the newer E46

    • @Ryaniwk
      @Ryaniwk  Před 3 lety

      Not sure about Carly, but for NCS or PA soft, when I used to have a 2000 E46, for any coding I had to used the round connector under the bonnet with an adapter.
      It can be seen in these videos I did:
      czcams.com/video/h-l2JCbXtTo/video.html (beginning of the video
      On this one czcams.com/video/tK4hjN4hWbc/video.html (minute 5:20 you can see the cable)
      Again, I am not sure about Carly as I don’t have those cars anymore, just a 2004 one atm
